From the TTA station at Forge-à-la-Plez to the Lafosse mill

This hike, half in the forest and half in the countryside, starts at the car park of Chlorophylle Park, a forest theme park offering recreation, education and art. The path starts between the reception building, restaurant, terrace, toilets and souvenir shop, and the park itself.

This outing in the northern part of the Plateau des Tailles stretches between the Fagnes de la Goutte and Pouhon (sources of the Aisne) and Grandménil (with its German Panzer and its 1944 museum). Mostly through woodland, the route follows fairly easy paths and tracks. Make sure you wear suitable footwear, especially after a spell of rain, as there are two fords that can sometimes be tricky to cross, one over the Aisne and the other over the stream in the Fagne de la Goutte, which is home to beavers.

Megaliths – whether dolmens (covered passageways) or menhirs (standing stones) – are abundant in this region, where one comes across boulders that could well have been added to the collection at any bend in the forest path. One question remains: how on earth did our Neolithic ancestors manage to move, erect or stack these enormous boulders, some weighing up to 10 tonnes?The Aisne Tourist Tram, on the other hand, is much more recent, dating from the 1960s, following the permanent closure of the local railway line from the first half ofthe 20th century, which linked the stations at Comblain-la-Tour and Melreux via Manhay.

A varied walk taking you from one hillside to the other, with five crossings over water; woodland in the first part, and rolling countryside and views in the second. Mills, stone structures and villages.

Since 1965, the Tramway Touristique de l'Aisne (TTA) has been operating an old Ardennes local railway line between Pont d'Érezée and Lamorménil. This long walk allows you to discover the last two (old) stations or stops.

Start at Robert Lenoir Park in Rendeux and head towards Bois d'Arlogne. Once there, the hike passes through Marcouray. Then, from the village, head towards Cielle and descend towards La Boverie to finally follow the Ourthe to Rendeux via Jupille and Marcourt. A beautiful circular route to discover the villages of our municipality!

Set off to discover the authentic Ardennes forest, far from the hustle and bustle of the tourist centre of La Roche-en-Ardenne. In mid-August, apart from a few people on the outskirts of Borzée, you may not meet any other hikers. Peace and quiet guaranteed.
