The route passes close to the park's magnificent aerial circuit (1) and gradually descends towards the hamlet of Forge-à-la-Plez (3), its ford over the Aisne and its TTA stop (Tram Touristique de l'Aisne, located a little way away).
The long climb through a huge beech forest leads to the Grandes Places (4) on a wide path that leaves the woods and continues on a small road towards the hamlet of Hazeilles (5).
Hazeilles is home to the natural curiosity of the Grande Houssière (6), a few acres planted with tall holly trees.
The route heads towards the hamlet of Blier, where it crosses the Aisne again near the TTA depot (7).
The inner courtyard of Blier Castle (8) is worth a quick look.
This is followed by a long climb through the countryside (with a stretch of forest) between the villages of Amonines and Magoster. As you approach Devantave, the route enters the forest at the Bois-de-Tave farm (12).
To complete the picture, the route offers a distant view of the hamlet of Laidprangeleux and the Isbelle sheepfold (cheese sold directly to the public) from the clearing you pass near kilometre 16.3.
From Chlorophylle to La Houssière
This hike, half in the forest and half in the countryside, starts at the car park of Chlorophylle Park, a forest theme park offering recreation, education and art. The path starts between the reception building, restaurant, terrace, toilets and souvenir shop, and the park itself.

The deforested hillsides in the Waharday, Chéoux and Hodister area have been repopulated with various species of shrubs, notably broom, which has taken root there in their thousands.When they flower in May, they light up the whole area with their characteristic magnificent yellow colour.The icing on the cake is that the numerous meadows are also illuminated in yellow by buttercups.A real feast for the eyes.
