From Kerbors, the banks of the Jaudy and the early vegetable fields.

The Jaudy, along with the Guindy, are the two coastal rivers that form the Lézardrieux peninsula. This ends in the English Channel via the famous Sillon de Talbert (a strip of sand 3 km long and 100 m wide). Come and discover, on the way out, the Ria du Jaudy and its rugged coastline, and on the way back, follow the vegetable fields (mainly artichokes and cauliflowers).

Description of the walk

Car park behind Kerbors Town Hall.

(S/E) Set off along the road heading north-west, then very quickly west. After the Chapelle Saint-Aubin, at a left-hand bend, take the path on the right. When it ends, continue in the same direction along the road for about a hundred metres.

Red and white markings forthe GR®34

(1) Take the path on the right; it then becomes a service road. At the junction, continue straight ahead then take a path on the right. It bends to the right then to the left. It ends on a road.

(2) Please note: at this point, aGR® sign indicates two options

If the tide is low, turn left, head down to the beach and follow it north-east. After rounding a headland, take the access road and follow the track until you reach a right-hand bend (suggested route).

If the tide is high, preventing access to the beach: turn right. At the end of the road, turn left and ignore a road on the left. At the end of this road, turn left, pass the hamlet of Roc'h ar C'héré and continue on the left, then ignore a path on the left and carry on until you reach a left-hand bend.

(3) Junction of the twoGR® routes.
Coming from the beach, take the path on the left; otherwise, take the same path on the right. After 70m, turn right to join the road. Continue along this road.

(4) Take the hairpin bend to the left and follow it along the shore. Please note that in some places, due to rockfalls, the path requires caution.
Pass the Port Béni jetty on your left and take the first street on the left. Continue straight ahead along the path. Follow the coastal path until it turns due east, running alongside the Grève de Brestan.

Unmarked

(5) At this point, theGR® continues straight on. Take the road on the right. At the first junction, turn right and, at the end of the road, turn left. After 100m, take the side path on the right and, at the end of it, turn right.

(6) At the end of the road, turn left onto the path which becomes a road again after crossing a stream.

(7) Cross the Route de Saint-Laurent and continue straight ahead along the path. Continue along the road and, at the end, turn left.

(8) Head towards Prat Lohan via the road on the right heading south. Continue along the track on the left and reach the hamlet of Crec’h Quélen. Continue along the road.

(9) Turn right and continue south-west. Ignore the first road on the left, then the one on the right, and turn onto the second road on the left. After Ker Jacob Bihan, continue due south until you reach a road running perpendicular to it.

(10) Turn right and continue along the track, then the road, until you reach the D20. Cross it (taking care) and continue straight ahead along the track. At the end of the track, turn right, then left at the junction.

(11) Turn onto the path on the right. Continue along the road that runs from it. Go straight on at the crossroads. Follow Rue de la Forge to the church. Turn right onto Rue du Marais. Continue right towards the Town Hall to find the car park on the left (S/E).

It’s always a pleasure to take this walk time and again for the magnificent views of the River Tréguier along the GR 34. There are no significant hills to climb; simply follow the GPX track or the instructions in the guide carefully, as there are numerous paths and small roads in the countryside. There are benches and a table for a break at a place called Crec’h ar Peuillart.

A walk taken on a beautiful morning in late August. No major difficulties. The first section follows the Jaudy river and the GR34 trail. It’s a magnificent stretch of path. It’s best to do this section at high tide. For the circular return loop, you must either follow the GPX track closely or follow the route on the map and the guidebook carefully, as there is a maze of small paths and roads where it is easy to get lost. These detours are not a problem, however, as the paths criss-cross and you can always easily rejoin the original route. This circular return loop is partially marked with yellow markings.
Don’t miss the Men ar Rompet dolmen, the pretty chapel at Brestan and the beautiful building at St Laurent.
