(S/E) Start from the car park on Place de la Mairie, behind the church. Join the Chambord road, turn right with your back to the church. Pass Rue du Docteur Audy.
(1) Turn right onto Rue du Pont, cross the Cosson river, then turn right twice to take Rue de Villeneuve, which becomes a stabilised dirt track.
(2) Leave the stabilised path, which turns right, and take the grassy path that continues straight ahead. Ignore the various paths branching off to either side.
(3) When you reach the wall surrounding the Château Saumery estate, the path turns left, following the wall, then right. You can then take the track running parallel to the road.
(4) At the crossroads, turn right onto Rue de Saumery, then immediately turn left onto the grassy path, which offers a beautiful view of Château Saumery on your right. Turn right at the T-junction to reach Pavillon de la Chaussée.
(5) Turn left, cross the Cosson river and follow Rue de Saumery to the first crossroads.
(6) Cross Rue du Coin and continue straight ahead along Rue de Bracieux (GR® 3C) until you reach a crossroads. Keep to Rue de Bracieux on your right until you reach another crossroads.
(7) Turn left onto the paved road, Le Haut de la Borde, which quickly becomes a stabilised dirt road. Leave the road on the left and turn right.
(8) At the T-junction, follow the stabilised path on the right. Turn left at the next crossroads and then right. Go through the gate as you approach the houses to reach Rue de Châtillon.
(9) Turn left to go around the cemetery and continue on the path parallel to the Route de Chambord, then turn right onto the small path to rejoin the road. Continue for about 50 metres on the left, then cross, turning right to return to the church and the starting point (S/E).
