Departure: Tuilerie pond car park.
This route starts at the Tuilerie pond and can be divided into two parts, which can be done in the order described or, depending on your arrival time, reversed to start with part 2 (depending on the light).
Part 1:
(S/E) Take the right bank of the pond as you leave the car park and follow it to the junction with a small road.
(8) Turn around and retrace your steps. The light will reveal a whole new spectacle on the bushes and submerged surfaces.
Back at the starting point, begin the second part.
Follow the dyke to the end.
(1) Take the path that runs alongside the ditch on your right. Continue until you reach the junction with the road (D64), which you will cross.
Turn left and cross the dyke at the Cahauderie pond.
(2) At the end of the dyke, take the second path on the right which passes through the undergrowth. Quite wide at the start, it narrows just at the Croix Sainte-Marie (located in the bushes on the left, after the barriers).
Continue through the undergrowth to reach a crossroads of dirt tracks and a bridge over the stream.
(3) At this crossroads, turn left – the ditch will be on your right. Follow the path to cross two streams or marshes, depending on the season. After the bridge, take the path on the left – the ditch will be on your right again. Walk along the Blondeaux pond (known as Beaurois) for most of the way to reach the dyke, which you will want to walk back and forth on to get a full view of the pond.
(4) When you return from your walk, turn left and follow the stream on your right.
(5) Cross the road (D64) and continue to follow the ditch, which will be on your right, like a handrail.
(6) At the edge of the woods, at the crossroads, leave this path and the ditch on your right and turn left onto the path that runs alongside a ditch on your left.
Pass in front of Rosier Pond, where many ducks nest. Continue into the woods again to reach Château Pond. Cross the dam of this pond (the private château will be on your right).
(7) When you reach the road, turn right and follow it for about 400 metres along the castle's boundary wall. Turn left onto the dirt track.
(1) Walk along the dyke of the Tuilerie pond again until you reach the end, where you will find the car park (S/E).
