Description of the walk

Start from the car park at Plage des Dunes in Beg Meil.

(S/E) Facing the sea, take the path that heads under the trees to the right.

(1) Ignore the path on the right and continue straight on along the edge of the dune.

(2) Leave the path and turn right onto Chemin de Kerambigorn, marked with a Yellow Rectangle, which curves slightly to the left a little further on. Follow it, ignoring the roads branching off to the right.

(3) Follow the path on the left and walk alongside the Marais de Mousterlin. You will reach a four-way junction.

(4) Ignore the paths on the right and left and continue straight on, passing a holiday centre with a futuristic design.

(5) Take the path branching off to the left which crosses the marsh. At the next fork, follow the path branching off to the left, then left again.

(6) Continue straight ahead, ignoring the access road to Cleut Rouz beach (barrier).

(7) Follow the path branching off to the left, continue through the meadows and turn left again to reach the Route du Grand Large a little further on, running alongside the campsite. At the next junction, follow this same road to the left towards the sea.

(8) Turn right and follow this road to Pointe de Mousterlin via the designated path, then a little further on to Mousterlin Beach.

(9) At the small port of Mousterlin, turn back to retrace your steps to the car park

(8) From there, continue straight on and follow theGR® path straight ahead, skirting the beach, to reach the car park at Plage des Dunes in Beg Meil (S/E).

A lovely walk that you can tailor to suit your preferences.
It makes a change from the coastal path
Parking the car in the shade near the starting point is a plus
Start by the sea and the beach with your feet in the water and return through the marshes and the pine-shaded dunes. A swim at the supervised beach at Kermil is a bonus to cool off
On the way back to Beig Meil, the ice cream parlour is a must.

A lovely, easy walk with a pleasant, shaded section through the Mousterlin marshes; the Pointe de Mousterlin, which has more houses; and the return route along the long, beautiful beach. As we arrived early at the Dunes car park at the starting point, we were able to park easily (there were only a few cars there, which was no longer the case when we returned). The presence of toilets is appreciated and there are others along the route (points 2, 8 and 9). We just missed point 2 by continuing along the path for 50 metres before realising our mistake (we don’t always keep an eye on the GPS). Perhaps the presence of toilets at this point should have been indicated. We had a picnic at the little harbour in Mousterlin (there was no one there). On the way back, we were even able to go for a swim at Kermil beach as the weather was glorious.

A lovely walk with two distinct sections: the marsh and the beach. The car park at Plage des Dunes is very easy to get to, and if you arrive in the morning, there’s plenty of space. There are even some much-appreciated toilets. We followed the route described (picnic at the little port of Mousterlin) except for the return leg right at the end, where we joined the path on the dune just before the rocks located before Plage des Dunes. The duration given for the walk is spot on. And the icing on the cake was that after the walk we went back to Kermil beach where we were able to go for a swim.
