Through the Beg Meil bocage

The Pointe de BegMeil is bordered by the sea, yet this route turns its back on it.
This circuit offers the chance to discover another aspect: the bocage. Walk along sunken lanes, through hamlets and past old farms, bordering the Mousterlin Marshes in places.

Red markings

(S/E) From the car park, turn right towards the Saint-Guénolé Chapel, built in 1936, pass it and arrive at Chemin de Kervastard, where you turn left. Walk past a campsite and arrive at a roundabout.

(1) Turn left onto Chemin de Kerlosquen, heading south. After about 100 metres, turn right onto Chemin de Kerlédan, which loops around, passes a roundabout and arrives at a fork.

(2) Turn left at the three-way junction onto Chemin de Gosforn, continue on the right, cross a stream and come out onto another path.

(3) Turn right onto Hent Kersinaou (Kerzinaou on the map) and continue until you reach a give way sign.

(4) Turn left at the hairpin bend onto Hent Kerhoan and, at the fork, keep right onto Hent Meshour. At the T-junction, continue left on the same street and you will come to a marshy area.

(5) Go around it on the right, Hent Mesguinis, turn left onto Chemin de Hent Maurice. At the end, keep right and follow the edge of the large Camping de l'Atlantique campsite and enter the edge of the Marais de Mousterlin marsh.

(6) Continue between the marsh and the campsite, ignore a footbridge on your left, turn right to continue along the campsite. You will arrive at the Chapel of Kerbader. On your left, you will see a bread oven used for the annual pardon at the end of August, an ideal place for a break.

(7) Cross the grassy area surrounding the chapel and note the Manoir de Coat Conan on your right and, a little further on, the Kerbader fountain in a meadow, which is usually wet, on your left. You will come to a give way sign.

(8) Turn left onto Hent Kerleya, pass another smaller campsite and arrive at another fork in the road.

(9) Turn right onto Hent Kermiladou, ignore a dead end on the left and follow this small road which turns north and continue on Hent Lesven, ignoring the side roads, until you reach a larger crossroads.

(10) Turn right onto Lenn Gouz and continue along a path that leads to Hent Lespont.

(11) Turn right onto this street and continue to the next crossroads, Hent Lesvern.

(12) Turn left at the fork that appears almost immediately, keep to the right to reach Chemin du Quinquis. First turn left then right to continue on Hent Carbon. Pass a cider house. At the end, the street branches off to the left to reach a roundabout.

(13) Continue straight on Chemin de Park Marc'h to reach Rue des Glénan.

(14) Follow this larger street to the right. At the roundabout, turn right onto Rue Saint Guénolé. Opposite the church, turn left to return to the car park (S/E).
