Start from the Basse Goulaine car park.
(S/E) From the car park, head west, go round the post office and find the path running parallel to the road leading to Saint-Sébastien-sur-Loire.
(1) After about 500 m, turn right and cross the small bridge after the Grignon roundabout. Follow the signs back to the Goulaine to pass under the motorway.
(2) Go under the road and head up to the left (note the pumps that prevent flooding in the valley). Continue along the shaded path to the Savarières roundabout.
(3) Continue along Boulevard des Pas Enchantés until you reach Genétay, with the sports grounds of Saint-Sébastien-sur-Loire visible on your right.
(4) Turn right, cross the Ruisseau du Boireau and find yourself on Île Pinette.
(5) Turn left downstream. On your right, you’ll see an equestrian centre much loved by the locals. Head for the footbridge leading to Île Forget.
(6) Cross the footbridge and continue left immediately afterwards. You’ll see a large building that has been open as a refreshment bar since 2020 and a playground for children and adults alike. Go under the railway line and continue to the Loire.
(7) Continue to the right along the Loire, cross the railway line again and return to the footbridge.
(6) Cross the footbridge and continue to the left. Pass the horses on your right, walk alongside the golf course and go round it, following the riverbank.
(8) Look out for the Château des Savarières and turn left onto the footbridge to find your way back to Basse Goulaine.
(3) Leave the route taken on the way there and follow the road on your right to reach the tunnel and pass under the motorway again.
(2) Return to the car park at the Salle Paul Bouin in Basse Goulaine (S/E).
