(1) Turn right again after the footbridge.

There are few or no toilet facilities. Check out the few shops!

The route is accessible all year round, except for Île Clémentine when the Loire is in flood.

Worth a visit

The village of Bellevue is typical of a past centred on fishing and trade along the river.

During major floods, local residents are affected but know how to protect themselves so they can continue to live in this pleasant setting.

A lovely walk that starts along the Loire, passing by a very charming little guiguette.
Then the walk around Île Clémentine is brilliant!
We did this walk with our dog, who was able to run free for 90 per cent of the way: dogs must be kept on a lead on Île Clémentine as it’s a protected area.
The last kilometre along the road, with just a narrow verge or pavement, is a bit dangerous.

A lovely little walk. The walk round Clementine Island is a bit of a maze, with lots of paths criss-crossing each other, but it’s so small you can’t get lost.

No complaints about the quality of the route or the description. The start of the walk is lovely, along the Loire. Île Clémentine is also very pleasant. The return leg, to the Plessis lake, is also lovely – more ‘rural’...

It’s a shame, though, that the last kilometre runs alongside a relatively busy road that isn’t very safe for pedestrians. It’s also a shame that the start of the return leg takes you right through the middle of a travellers’ camp… (behind the football pitches at the Philippe Porcher Stadium). Without wanting to generalise, we didn’t feel entirely at ease…

Otherwise, it was a lovely walk, made all the more enjoyable by the fact that the weather was on our side!!!
