Description of the walk

The walk starts at the Xanrey cemetery, at the entrance to the village on Rue Principale. Parking available.

(S/E) Join Rue Principale, turn right to cross the village and pass in front of the church, the town hall and the village hall.

(1) At the bend in Rue Principale, continue straight on along the small Route de Lezey and join the D955.

(2) Cross it carefully, cross a stream and continue along the small road opposite, Chemin de Haute Récourt. Pass through the hamlet and reach the top of the hill.

(3) Continue along the stony track to the right until you reach a fork.

(4) The path straight ahead is impassable, so you must go round the field by turning left between the fields; then, at the top of the hill, turn right and, running alongside the woods, continue along the field path to the right until you rejoin the track.

(5) Turn left, continue along the tarmac road and carry on to the next fork.

(6) Turn right (D22A) and head towards the village of Lezey.

(7) At the end of the street, cross the D955 at the pedestrian crossing and continue left until you reach the church. Turn right towards Bezange-la-Petite, continuing on theD155V, which has very little traffic.

(8) At the fork, continue right to the village of Bezange-la-Petite.

(9) At the entrance to the village, take the first street on the left, Rue du Levant, which turns right onto the Grande Rue. Follow it to the right, passing the church and the town hall.

(10) Turn right up Rue de Lezey, leave the village and turn left at the Y-junction towards Réchicourt.

(11) At the crossroads where the road meets the field paths, turn right and continue straight on to the top of the hill where you join a track (elevation 262).

(12) Turn left and stay on this stony track to return to the cemetery at Xanrey (S/E).
