Start at Croix du Bessou (picnic area) on the D64.
(S/E) Take the track heading east.
(1) Do not continue along the track to the right which leads to Le Briol, but take the path that runs parallel to it on the left. You will pass the menhir standing on the right-hand side of the path. Before reaching the next crossroads, you can visit the ruins of an old chapel on the left.
(2) At the large crossroads, take theGR®®7opposite and follow the Route de l'Espinouse.
(3) 300 metres after passing the small forest house, take the path on the left that leads to Vaisse Plégade, the hunting school.
(4) Continue along the forest track to the left, following the Sylvetum de Grandsagne.
(5) At the barriers, turn right towards the Château de Grandsagne, which is currently being restored. Listed as a historic monument, it housed a holiday camp after the war. Follow the lane to the D55, which you cross in the direction of Ginestous.
(6) This charming little hamlet is mainly inhabited by holidaymakers in the summer. Be careful! At the three-way junction, take the middle path.
(7) When you reach the small road, you can visit the ford consisting of two bridges: a modern one made of culverts and concrete and an old one made of rough stone piers and covered with large slabs of schist. The piers are protected from the current by slabs laid at an angle. After the ford, you will find the Auberge du Moulin de Vergougnac, where you can eat. Retrace your steps and continue straight ahead.
(8) Be careful! You have to go into the hedge just after the bend before Les Cabanasses, and depending on the season, the path is more or less visible.
(9) Be careful! After crossing a small stream used as a bathing place by wild boars and other animals, leave the path and take a small track on the left, the entrance to which is not very visible under the branches but which quickly widens and climbs towards the D55 road.
(10) Follow this road to the right. Continue to the junction with the departmental road.
(11) Take the D150 until you reach a path on your left.
(12) Continue along this path. Pass two paths on your left and reach a third path on your right.
(13) Take this path and arrive at the D64.
(14) Continue left on the main road until you reach a path on the left.
(15) Take this path and return to the menhir seen at the start.
(16) Return along the same path to the Croix du Bessou (S/E).
