The Terrier Trail in Verreries-de-Moussans

Parking is available on the Route des Verriers.

(S/E) Head towards the village and turn right onto Rue de la Fount de l'Estat. Turn right again and cross the bridge over the Ruisseau du Thoré (you can make a return trip to the Bardou bread oven by turning left). Then climb up through the woods until you reach a fork.

(1) Take the path on the left and pass some drystone shelters before joining a track on the right.

(2) Continue along this track on the right. It offers a panoramic view of the Col d'Usclats and the Somail mountains. You will come to another track.

(3) Descend to the right and continue on another track until you reach a fork.

(4) Descend to the right until you reach a path on the right.

(5) Take the path down to the Borie Crémade.

(6) Turn right onto Rue du Mas, leave the hamlet and follow the Rivière du Thoré. Cross the Ruisseau de Moussans to take the path climbing diagonally to the right. Continue to the end of the climb.

(7) After the climb, follow the path on the left and rejoin the path you took on the way there.

(1) Descend opposite to return to the starting point (S/E).

The history of the glass furnaces
From^{the 15th} to^{the 19th} century, the village of Les Verreries de Moussans was home to a particularly flourishing glass industry. The name of the commune is linked to this past, dominated by families of glass-making gentlemen. In the surrounding forests, production workshops (the hall) and glass furnaces enabled the manufacture of vases, flasks, bottles and then ornamental objects.
Today, little remains of this past.

The Bardou bread oven
It dates from 1839 and was restored in 1997. Take the time to make a round trip (2 km in total) to the hamlet of Bardou. The access is signposted from the bridge over the Thoré.
