Ussé-Bréhémont castle circular via the Indre and then the Loire
Before or after your visit to the Château d'Ussé, which is rumoured to have inspired Charles Perrault's 'Sleeping Beauty', I suggest a lovely circular route along the Indre and then the Loire. There is the option of stopping for a bite to eat in Bréhémont. Remarkable views of the château.
Old Cher Route (short version)
Between the Loire and Indre rivers, come and stroll along the old Cher river. You will follow paths through beautiful landscapes such as the "Les Bardeaux de l'Indre" nature reserve and the Port of Bréhémont.

From Montsoreau to Candes-Saint-Martin
Montsoreau and Candes-Saint-Martin are two villages that form a single urban area. They transcend regional boundaries because the Loire and the hillside unite them.
This route allows you to discover the white houses scattered along the river and the confluence with the Vienne.
This is a walk to be done at sunrise to fully enjoy the light shining on the façades.

The circular Fontevraud Abbey starting from Montsoreau
A superb circular hike allowing you to discover Montsoreau, Fontrevaud and Candes-Saint-Martin in their natural setting and localities located in remarkable sites. The circular hike is done anti-clockwise on the hillside to enjoy a pleasant route through the woods and panoramic views of the right bank of the Loire.
Between Dampierre-sur-Loire and Montsoreau
A circular loop exploring the troglodyte dwellings on the hillside between Dampierre-sur-Loire and Montsoreau, alternating between sections through the vineyards of Souzay - Champigny, including the unusual "Clos Cristal", the tuffeau cliff shaped by man and erosion overlooking the Loire, the remarkable villages and their heritage, and the wild left bank of the Loire.
In the heart of the Saumur-Champigny vineyards
A hilly route along the hillside through the vineyards. Home to a magnificent 14th-century Romanesque church and the Manoir de Morains, where Marguerite d'Anjou is said to have died. Dampierre-sur-Loire is also renowned as a commune in the Saumur-Champigny appellation.

The Châtelier circular starting from Saint-Benoît-la-Forêt
This circular route above Saint-Benoît takes you through beautiful deciduous and coniferous forests, before exploring a valley accessible to the most determined walkers.
It can be combined with the Téméraire circular loop to double the length of the route. In this case, it is recommended to tackle the Téméraire first, followed by the Châtelier.

This circular walk takes you to the clearing where Saint-Benoît-la-Forêt is nestled, in the heart of the Chinon state-owned forest. It alternates between clearings, dense undergrowth and open woodland, and allows you to explore part of the Saint-Benoît nature trail.
