Vernantes Forest Route

Start: Vernantes (Town Hall Square, by the church) – Signposting: Yellow

(S/E) From the square, head straight ahead, then turn left and immediately right. Continue along the street until you reach the crossroads.

(1) Turn left, then right onto Rue Moreau and take the third path on your left. Follow it to the junction.

(2) Turn right onto Route du Toucheau and carry on straight ahead. Pass the Château Noir and carry on to the crossroads.

(3) Turn left, then immediately right, and carry on to the end.

(4) Turn right and carry on for about 1.2 km along a wide track. Pass a track on your right, then reach a crossroads.

(5) Turn right, then right again towards La Pitière. Carry on to the crossroads.

(6) Turn left onto Rue Brignalet. Carry on until you reach the D767. Cross the road carefully and head straight ahead, then turn left immediately.

(7) Take the second left. At the next junction, turn right and carry on to the end of the road.

(8) Turn right, then carry on along the road, turning right again, and then turn left. You’ll reach the houses in the hamlet known as Les Vieilles Maisons.

(9) At the junction, turn right, then left. Go round the sports grounds. On the road, take Rue du Dr Roger Fretigny straight ahead. Continue straight on until you reach Rue Dutier.

(10) Turn right. At the crossroads, carry on straight ahead until you reach the third junction.

(1) Take the road straight ahead, slightly to the left, ‘rue de la Douair’. At the end of the road, turn left then right to return to the starting point (S/E).
