Start at the first junction on the D538, after leaving Dieulefit towards Bourdeaux, near the Source du Jabron campsite, on the right (Chemin du Brachet). Park in the car park next to the recycling bins.
(S/E) Take the D538 uphill and join the Chemin de la Calade at the second hairpin bend on the left of the road.
(1) Take the track and follow it to the junction at the Col de Ventebrun.
(2) Continue right onto the D538, towards Bourdeaux, until you reach the Col de Boutière.
(3) Take the track on the right. At the three-way junction, keep left, leave the woods (viewpoint over the Col de la Chaudière, the Trois Becs and the Montagne de Couspeau) then quickly turn right and continue through the undergrowth.
(4) At the four-way junction, take the path straight ahead. This becomes a little rocky but then easier on the descent. At the small road, continue downhill to the left and, at the end of Chemin de Grimolle, turn right until you quickly reach the next junction.
(5) Turn left onto Chemin de la Motte and continue uphill to the farm, at the end of the tarmac.
(6) Pass between the buildings then take the path immediately after, on the right, uphill. Follow the ridge line until you reach a road junction.
(7) Continue straight ahead on the D223, towards Vesc, for a return trip to the Col de Vesc.
(8) After enjoying the view, return to the previous junction.
(7) Continue along the D223 towards Comps until you reach the second left-hand turn, Chemin des Combes.
(9) Take the hairpin bend onto this track and continue along the path to the Refuge des Combes. After a winding descent, you’ll reach a road with a picnic table on the left.
(10) Turn right and follow the D547 until you reach the Romanesque church at Comps, after turning left onto Chemin de l'Église.
(11) Continue along the track and, at the bottom of the descent, take the path opposite. Follow this along the mountainside; it is a little steep in places. You may need to walk for short sections. Carry straight on and you’ll reach a track after passing the second metal gate .
(12) Head left until the next fork.
(13) Turn right uphill onto the forest track, then after a few metres, continue slightly downhill until you reach a fork, situated above a farm building.
(14) Take the path on the right and, at the junction with a house about fifty metres to the right, continue along the path opposite which leads into a pine forest. Head downhill to a fence, just after the trough, which blocks the way.
(15) Go through the double fence, taking care to close it behind you. Then join a track and follow it downhill to the D538, at the bridge over the Jabron.
(16) Continue to the right and head for the Source du Jabron campsite (S/E).
