Description of the walk

Park at the bottom of Chemin du Bruchet in Lamoura.

Signposting: small yellow flags marked with a pair of black snowshoes and yellow stakes

(S/E) Take the path on the left at the top of Chemin du Bruchet. Don’t worry – this path starts on a fairly wide cross-country ski trail. Walk at the side of the trail without damaging the cross-country skiers’ tracks. Continue to the junction with the snowshoe trail.

(1) Leave the cross-country ski trail and turn left onto the off-piste path marked with small yellow flags. Then walk alongside the forest; the cross-country ski trail is on your left, below you.
Continue along the edge of the forest until you reach a right-angled junction.

(2) Take the right-hand branch and you’ll come across a cross-country ski trail a little further on.

(3) Turn slightly to the right and follow this track, taking care not to go onto it. You’ll reach a junction of tracks.

(4) Turn right again, continuing to follow a cross-country ski trail until you reach the original junction.

(1) Follow the route you took on the way there and return to the Chemin du Bruchet car park (S/E).

When you enter the forest, if you don’t keep an eye out, you’ll get lost; in summer, the forest has encroached on the path. After that, it’s better.

A lovely, sunny afternoon out on snowshoes: very few people on the slopes (it was the day when tourists were being moved to different zones)
