The Nicode tour in Mijoux

Open from 15 December to 30 March.

The Nicode trail, located in the authentic village of Mijoux, is ideal for walking and getting some fresh air. It forms a circular route along the edge of the Valserine.

A sumptuous walk to discover the Valserine with the magic of snow-covered landscapes.
The trail can be used for several activities: snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, walking.
Accessible for families, with sledges and children.

This route can only be used in winter when there is snow and is marked in purple.

Description of the walk

The nearest car park is located 150 m before the start, just in front of the La Croustille restaurant. Turn right to reach the starting point.

(S/E) The departure point is at the exit of the village of Mijoux in the direction of Lélex. From this point, put on your snowshoes or even cross-country skis and descend on the left-hand track to follow the Mijoux school. Continue until the track turns.

(1) At this point, turn right and begin your return journey. Follow the Valserine river.

(2) Head back up to return to the starting point (S/E).

Worth a visit

There are parking spaces opposite the Couronne restaurant, along Rue Royale, at the Egravines car park, or after the Charlemagne Bridge.

The village of Mijoux is picturesque, with frescoes on the facades of the houses. There is a stone museum that is free to visit.
It is also a resort village where you can enjoy a range of activities throughout the year, in both winter and summer.
