Most of this hike follows the Chemin des Bisses trail. On maps, including OpenStreetMap, it is marked as "Chemin des Bisses N°58" or "Col des Planches Vercorin". At each major intersection, you will see signposts with the number 58 on a green background. View this image
(S) From the small car park at Col des Planches, head towards the Col du Lein road. Follow this small road until you reach a small farm (several buildings).
(1) Go around the farm on the left and continue towards Col des Planches Vercorin. You will reach a crossroads.
(2) Continue eastwards. Pass the Col du Lein car park
(3) Head north, following the sign for "58". Pass a building at the end of the Col de Lein. Continue along this road until you reach a junction with a track.
(4) Take the path that descends to the left (signposted 58). Continue on the "Col des Planches Vercorin" and cross another small road.
(5) Continue along this road until you reach a hairpin bend.
(6) At this point, the trail enters the woods and is also called "Ancien bisse de Saxon". Signpost (58). Continue along this trail, which climbs steeply at times. The trail levels out a little and crosses a path coming from the top of the ski lifts, which is used by mountain bikes.
(7) Continue north-east on trail 58 "Col des Planches Vercorin".
(8) Leave the descending track on your left and you will finally see the restored Saxon bisse with its irrigation channel. From points 6 to 8, only the path along the irrigation channel remained. The channel had disappeared at the beginning of the 20th century. It is only as you approach La Tzoumaz that the bisse has been restored in sections.
(9) Leave the bisse on your right (you will come back to it in the next stage) and start the descent towards La Tzoumaz by turning left (north-west).
(10) Leave the track and follow the path on the right that leads to the cable car station.
(11) Opposite the cable car station, take the small path down to the centre of La Tzoumaz (Hôtel de la Poste) (E).
