Description of the walk

(S) From the lodge, cross Champex and continue along the main road.

(1) Turn left onto the road that passes west of the hamlet of Champex d'en Haut. Continue along the road on the edge of the Combe for 800m, then take the road on the right and turn left onto the road that leads to Champex d'en Bas (1359m).

(2) At the junction with the road, take the path on the left that crosses the stream, then turn right 100m further on into a small valley to reach the Plan de l'Au mountain pasture (1330m).

(3) Continue straight ahead (north-west) on a gently sloping path which then turns left towards the south-west.

(4) Pass close to the Jure chalet at the foot of the Arpette bell towers. Climb left, among the larch trees, into the Six Fours valley, cross the stream, then follow a steep, winding path to reach the top of the forest. The path continues horizontally northwards through the mountain pastures and bends before reaching the chalets of the Bovine mountain pasture (1,975 m).

(5) Flat at first, then sloping, theGR® climbs up the mountainside through meadows, crosses the small pass of Portalo (2,049 m), descends into the larch forest and reaches the Giete chalet (1,884 m).

(6) Follow the path that runs alongside the torrent downstream, then descend through the forest and reach the Col de la Forclaz (1,526 m).

(7) At the pass, take the path south along the bisse and reach a junction.

(8) Descend to the right, cross the N506, take the track on the left, then the track on the right, and cross the N506 again at the entrance to the village of Trient (1297m).

(E) You can reach Le Chatelard (Swiss border) by bus, then take the train to Montroc and walk to the refuge
on foot to Tré Le Champ.

Hello,
I did this walk 4 years ago... I don't remember this farm inn.
Information found on the internet: very rustic Bovine refuge farm.
refreshment bar and small restaurant. No phone number.
I don't know if overnight stays are possible either.
Sorry

Must-see Bovine farmhouse: 1920s alpine chalet with refreshment facilities. Beware of the mud in case of rain.
