The Romans Route in Reclinghem

The start is at Reclinghem Church: 7, Rue de Dohem. Parking is available around the church.

(S/E) From the start sign, with the cemetery on your right, head down Rue de Dohem. At the junction, turn right. At the crossroads, carry on straight ahead. Then leave the village and, after the metal shed, take the path on the left to reach the crossroads at the hamlet known as Les Dix Mesures.

(1) Carry on straight ahead. At the end of the track, cross the departmental road, then turn left and immediately right onto the track near a metal wayside cross. You’ll cross another departmental road.

(2) Cross the D104 and carry on straight ahead. At the end, turn left to reach the D92.

(3) Turn right, then take the stony track on the left. Go up the hill. At the top, turn right, then immediately left.

(4) At the junction, keep left. At the next two crossroads, carry on straight ahead to reach the path leading to the Grand Bois. Carry on straight ahead until you reach the next road.

(5) Turn left and, at the crossroads, turn left again. At the junction, turn right and walk down carefully. Continue straight ahead to return to the starting point (S/E)

The recommended difficulty level for this route has been revised. This is because the route features a steep incline (gradient of between 10 and 15 per cent) at one point and a steep descent (gradient of between 10 and 15 per cent) at the end of the route. The route profile justifies this decision.
