Circuit "Les fossés" à Barlin

Cosec car park, Allée des Tilleuls.

(S/E) From the car park, continue along the track that runs alongside the road. You will come to a Y-junction.

(1) Turn right onto the^GRP®® (formerly the Cavalier), follow it straight on, crossing two streets, and arrive at a large road junction.

(2) Leave the^GRP®®. Cross Rue de Fresnicourt and continue straight ahead. Cross the D179E1 with care. Ignore a road on the right (Impasse du Vieil Arras). You will reach a junction.

(3) Turn left and walk round the pond to return to the junction you passed on the way out.

(3) Turn left and continue to the second fork in the woods.

(4) Take the path on the left. Carry straight on until you reach the road and follow it straight ahead to the junction.

(5) Take the^second street on the right (Rue de Mulhouse), heading due north, then at the end turn right onto Rue de Barlin (D179). Pass Rue du Bois on your left and continue along Rue d’Houdain. Take two left-hand bends and arrive at a Y-junction.

(6) Turn left onto Rue des Carrières, then continue along the path that extends from it until you reach Rue de Ruitz.

(7) Turn left onto Grand Chemin d'Arras, first along the Fossé du Prêtre, then straight on until the junction with Rue des Chênes at Ruitz.

(8) Follow this street to the right. Take two bends and, at the end of the second, you will reach Rue des Reptins.

(9) Turn right and continue to the roundabout (caution: dangerous crossing).

(10) Go round the roundabout to continue opposite onto Rue de la Perelle and carry on straight ahead along Chemin de Lille until you reach the D171.

(11) Turn right onto Chemin de Saint-Bertin for 20 metres, cross the road, then continue to the right and, at the bend, leave the D171 and turn left onto the D179.

(12) Cross it, rejoin the^GRP®®, to reach the Fossé de Marquinval.

(13) Turn right and follow it on your left until you reach Rue d’Hersin.

(14) Turn right and then left to enter the slag heap.

(15) At the T-junction, directly beneath the high-voltage power line, turn right to rejoin the original fork.

(1) Continue straight on to reach the car park (S/E).
