To get to the start: in Moussey, head towards Col de Prayé and about 1 km after the sawmill, park in the car park at Les Chavons.
(S/E) Take the path that branches off to the right of the road (marked with the Anneau Bleu trail markers - Rouges Terres route).
After a few dozen metres, take the footbridge over the stream on the left. Continue right on the path that climbs uphill.
(1) At the crossroads, go straight ahead. Continue uphill, following the same direction at each successive crossroads, marked with a blue ring. When you leave the forest, continue along the path across open ground with stubble.
(2) At the intersection, follow the path marked with a red triangle to the right, towards Marcairie.
(3) After 500 m, you will come to a forest road. Follow it to the right (red triangle).
(4) Continue straight ahead and observe the ruins of the Marcairie (on the left, below in the vegetation). A few metres further on, pass a clearly visible sculpture on the right (the Penseur Asséché).
(5) Immediately after the sculpture, take a small path on the right that climbs up to the Abri de la Haute Loge (panoramic view of the surrounding area).
(6) Descend via the Triangle Rouge path signposted Moussey. Turn left at the bottom of this short descent (Red Cross sign). At the next intersection, turn left towards Prayé (Red Cross - Green Disc).
(5) Pass the sculpture again (this time on your left).
(4) Then turn right onto a path that is not very visible (marked with a red cross and green disc). This is the Sentier des Hautes Chaumes. Continue along the ridge. At one point, there is a wide view of the Bruche valley in an atmosphere of massive deforestation. You will come to an intersection with a clear forest road.
(7) Turn right towards the Clairière de Prayé.
(8) After less than 500 m, leave this direction and take the unmarked forest road on the left that goes downhill. The stony surface is not very pleasant, but you will soon be rewarded with beautiful natural surroundings. Continue without taking the paths that go up to the right. You will reach a junction with a forest road coming from the left.
(9) Continue straight ahead. A beautiful mountain stream will accompany us on our right almost to the end.
(10) At the junction with two paths, turn right to join the Blue Ring and Red Triangle markings, which you will follow for a short while.
(11) Very soon, at a Y-junction, turn left onto Chemin des Italiens (Blue Ring) and you will find the stream again after a few metres, still on your right. Continue along Chemin des Italiens for a good while until it ends at the road you have been seeing on your right for some time; the official Blue Ring markings continue along the road to the car park at the end.
(12) To avoid walking on tarmac, do not go down to the right towards the footbridge that leads to the road, but take the slightly rough path that climbs up opposite and joins the Anneau Bleu marked trail taken at the start.
(1) Take it to the right and descend this time. Go back over the footbridge and turn right to reach the car park (S/E).
