The start of this route is at the car park of the Thanvillé village hall, Rue du Château.
(S/E) From here, head towards the cycle path towards Scherwiller. After about 2 km on this cycle path, you’ll pass a farm on your right.
(1) Take the first path on the left – it is a dirt track – towards the hamlet of Petit Hunschweiler, following signpost no. 5. After the hamlet of Schulhof, you will come to a crossroads.
(2) Keep to the right towards the Waldkappel chapel. You will reach another crossroads.
(3) Follow signpost no. 5 on the Villé Valley mountain bike route towards the Schulwaldplatz car park.
On this section of the route, there are only signs for the Villé Valley mountain bike route.
(4) Leaving the Schulwaldplatz car park, continue to follow signpost no. 5 of the Villé Valley mountain bike route,
the Red Cross markings as your guide.
Then turn right onto the path marked with a Red Rectangle until you reach the junction with the Route forestière des châteaux, where you will find signpost no. 5 for the Villé Valley. You will cross a path marked with a Yellow Cross.
(5) You are now near Bernstein Castle. Continue following the Red Rectangle markings. You arrive at the foot of Rehhag Berg.
(6) You will pass a picnic table and continue following the Red Rectangle markings. You will follow these for a while before rejoining the Châteaux forest road.
(7) Take this forest road, heading north at first, until you reach a large hairpin bend.
(8) You turn almost 180° to head south-west until you rejoin the cycle path.
(9) Follow this cycle path, turning right towards Thanvillé. You will come back to the junction you passed on the way out.
(1) Follow the same route as on the way out to return to the car park at the Thanvillé village hall (S/E).
