There is a large car park to the right of the inn before crossing Île Robinson when coming from Rennes, exit the "Porte de Maurepas" ring road.
The entire route is marked in yellow, even where it merges with theGR® 39.
(S/E) Head to the banks of the Ille and turn right, heading north-east. Follow the river and pass the Charbonnière lock.
(1) Take the first road on the right. In the bend, ignore the access to the mill on the right and continue on the road on the left. At the next junction, turn right and cross the level crossing. Walk along the pavement of Avenue de la Libération.
(2) After No. 21, cross carefully as there is no protected crossing and head opposite into Rue des Frégates. At the crossroads, continue straight ahead on a gravel path that joins a small road that bends to the right.
(3) In front of the Trudais houses, turn left onto a green path heading due east. You will reach a fork on the right.

Continue straight ahead. At the next T-junction, turn left.

(4) Leave theGR® trail on your left and turn right towards the south-west. The path then heads south and then veers west. When you reach a pond on your left, take a sharp left turn to reach the Route de la Louvinais.
(5) Turn right onto this road and cross the hamlet. The road bends to the right and runs along the northern ring road of Rennes on the other side of the hill. At the crossroads, turn left and cross the ring road via the "Bleue" footbridge.
(6) At the end of the footbridge, turn right onto Chemin des Louvries. Pass under the power lines and turn right onto Allée des Îles Chausey. At the end of the lane, continue on the left.
(7) Cross Avenue Général Georges Patton, continuing straight ahead. Walk along the left-hand side of the residential area.
(8) Be careful not to miss the small path on the right that leads to Parc de la Tauvrais. Cross the park and exit by turning left. Cross the residential area and Parc de Sibiu, following the marked paths to reach Rue Pablo Néruda.
(9) Cross the street and go under the porch of the building opposite. Turn right and go straight through the roundabout, continuing westwards. Reach the banks of the Ille.
(10) Turn right and walk along the river. Pass under the ring road bridge and then under the railway bridge. Continue along the towpath to the Robinson road bridge.
(11) You can take a short detour before returning to the car park.
Just after the road, turn left onto the footbridge. Note the park on the right and continue on the left to see the old mill with its wheel. Retrace your steps and after the footbridge, turn left to return to the car park (S/E).
