Description of the walk

Park in the car park in front of the Pabu Village Hall.

Yellow signposts

(S/E) Opposite the bilingual school, turn right and continue straight on, crossing the eastern part of the leisure park, then taking the local track on the right.

(1) At Crech-an-Herven, the yellow-marked trail branches off to the left towards a washhouse which was unique in that it allowed you to wash clothes whilst standing; you will then reach the Kerez washhouse, before beginning a fairly steep descent alongside a small, deep-cut stream.

(2) At the bottom of this descent, follow the sunken path on your right.
At this point, if you continue straight ahead along the path, you can admire the little stone bridge, but you’ll need to retrace your steps to continue on your way (120 m there and back).

(3) At the end of the sunken path, the trail branches off to the left. Cross a stream via footbridges, keeping the Frout on your right. Continue along the signposted path and a wide lane.
An alternative route is available: see the ‘Practical Information’ section.

(4) Then turn onto the path on your right and join the small road at Goermo. Turn left and walk alongside the farm, then continue along the road to Kermorvan.

(5) After a left-hand bend, at the crossroads, take the wide track slightly to the left, pass through Kervanno and turn right (south-west) at the next crossroads under the high-voltage power line. Continue along the tarmac road.

(6) After Goaz ar Grez, at the crossroads, take the path opposite and continue to the junction with a road.

(7) In the village of Banval, take the road opposite, then turn right at the crossroads and take the path leading downhill on your right. Follow the Frout and cross the footbridge, keeping the river on your left. This section is a bit tricky as the path is narrow and runs right alongside the river in places.

(8) At the junction, take the path on your left, cross the Frout via the footbridge and turn right. At the next Fork in the road, take the path leading uphill to the left and pass the farm, then the Ouilloren washhouse.

(9) After the wash house, continue straight on along Rue des Hortensias, then head slightly to the right towards the Pabu Village Hall and return to the car park where you started (S/E).

A lovely walk, starting from PABU, full of flowers and a pleasure to explore. The path is well signposted but muddy; walking poles are essential for certain sections where you have to balance carefully…… The three wash houses have good information boards. The fallow deer farm is superb.
Note: a change to the route to avoid the tarmac road: after the farm with the huge solar panels at the end of the PR, to reach No. 5 at Coat an Ty, take the forest path opposite which leads you to Kermorvan (5)

We’ve just done this walk; it starts from a car park, which is handy. After that, there are several signposts to guide you along the path. You walk alongside a stream, through the woods, along fields, with a few tarmac sections and some quite muddy bits too, It’s peaceful and mostly in the shade, sheltered from the wind. There are wash houses, a fallow deer farm – I think – and a farm with huge solar panels. There’s quite a lot to see, but above all there’s nature. In short, a lovely walk – I’ve added some photos.

A lovely walk, well signposted,
Most of the route is in the shade, well sheltered from the sun, and the three wash houses are clearly described on small information boards.
