The Way of the Cross on the hillsides of Bruebach

A peaceful route offering beautiful views of the villages south of Bruebach, with the city of Basel on the horizon and the entire Alpine range as a backdrop. You’ll frequently be able to admire the German-speaking Swiss Alps straight ahead, with the Eiger and the Jungfrau and their magnificent pyramidal peaks, and at the other end, on the right-hand side, when the weather permits, Mont Blanc.

(3) Follow the path up to the right and, after the left-hand bend that follows, continue straight on. You can admire the view from the bench situated about a hundred metres further up along the path.
Join a path coming from the right and the4th wayside cross.

(4) Leave the path on the right and continue towards the village. Reach the junction at the entrance to Bruebach, passing the recycling bins.

(6) Turn left, walk past the school and then the community hall to reach the6th wayside shrine at the junction with Rue de Flaxlanden.

(7) Continue straight on to the end of the street, marked with a Yellow Rectangle. It continues as Rue d’Altkirch.

(8) Continue following the Yellow Rectangle markings and pass under the high-voltage power line just before reaching a crossroads marked by the6th wayside shrine.

(9) Take the path leading down to the left and continue straight on, leaving the path on the left just past the hunting lodge. About 300 m further on, leave Rue de Steinbrunn on your left.

interesting theme, the calvaries; beautiful views of the Black Forest and the Jura; beautiful countryside with hills and fields; perfect 1.5-hour route when you don't want to hike for too long.

Hello,
Bruebach is a small village like so many others. There is no car park in Bruebach itself, although there are a few spaces near the community hall in the centre of the village.
The Rue des Hirondelles is a better place to park, and if there are a lot of you, you can also park on the extension of the Rue des Hirondelles, the Rue du Kerlisweg.
Glad you enjoyed the walk.

A lovely country walk. No difficulty. It’s not easy to find a car park when there’s a large group; there were 31 of us walking and only about ten cars.
