Car park near the Masclat war memorial.
(S/E) Start at the war memorial and head south. At the first junction, turn left onto Rue de l’Église towards the church and the château.
(1) Superb view of the castle, the church, the presbytery and the lime tree planted during the Revolution. Turn left onto the road leading down to Moulinou. It offers a beautiful view of the valley and the castle behind you.
(2) At the 90° bend, take the path opposite which runs alongside the Ruisseau la Ribeyrone, then crosses the stream (take care in wet weather). Walk alongside the box trees to the railway line and rejoin the road on the left. Follow it to the right, passing under the railway bridge, and take a series of S-bends to a junction.
(3) Take the path on the left into the Tournefeuille valley: lovely view of the valley.
(4) After 500 m, a path climbs up to the left, passing under the Paris-Toulouse railway line. After the bridge, follow the path climbing up opposite, leaving the railway line behind you. Follow this path through the forest, ignoring two turnings on the right, and you’ll reach the D248 road.
(5) Cross it carefully and take the Route du Barracayre opposite, which winds through this part of the village. You’ll reach La Fontvieille, with its distinctive wash house.
(6) Continue along the road, passing a cross on the right.
(7) Turn left then right to reach the war memorial (S/E).
