Passing through open fields and rolling hills, you’ll reach the Source des Dues, which once supplied water to the whole village. Throughout the route, there are lovely views of the surrounding plains.

Path between the fields

Description of the walk

(S/E) Starting from the Place de la Mairie in Monthois, take Rue des Champs to the left for about 260 m.

(1) Turn right onto the path (at the corner of the house at 30, Rue des Champs). Continue straight ahead on this same path and cross a small bridge. When you reach a junction, turn left, then at the next junction, turn left and immediately right 30 m further on. Continue straight ahead until you reach the RD15.

(2) Cross the RD15 carefully and take the path opposite. Continue straight ahead along this path. Pass the Source des Dues.

(3) Continue and follow the edge of the woods. Then pass a path on the right.

(4) At the junction between the two dirt tracks, turn left to head back down towards Monthois. Continue straight ahead. Once you reach the entrance to Monthois, follow the RD306 to the left for about 80 metres, then turn left onto Rue Felka.

(5) Turn right onto Rue Tabure and finally left onto Rue de l'Argonne to reach the village square (S/E).
