Mountain bike andGR®®34Gsignposts

Continue along Rue de l’Église until you reach the cemetery.

(2) Go round the church on the right and follow the path down towards a road.

(3) Turn right, ignore the road branching off to the left and pass close to the Moulin de Lesvoyen.

Off the marked route
(4) Cross the bridge over the River Goyen and continue uphill, passing Casavoyen.
At the next junction, turn right and walk past Keréval.

Yellow markings

(5) After a stream, turn left onto the path marked in yellow. Follow this path, which takes you along a fitness route. Pass a wash house. The path climbs to the left before reaching a road at Stang Irvirn; on the left is a cross and, below, a fountain (photo). At the road, turn right.

(6) At the roundabout, carry straight on, pass Bromuel Farm and look out for the start of a path on the right.

(7) Take this downhill path along the edge of a wood, turn right at the edge of a field and descend into the wooded valley. Pass a wash house and climb back up to a road.

(8) Follow it to the right, rejoining the road you took earlier and the roundabout.

(6) Turn left towards the village of Mahalon. Follow this road, which passes by the Chapel of Saint-Pierre.

(9) Turn left into a park with a children’s playground; at the exit, turn left and then, further on, right towards the hamlet of Rozaven.

(10) Walk through the hamlet, exit to the right, go round a roundabout (note a buried fountain on the right and a wash house below on the left), walk past the church and arrive at the car park on the right (S/E).

Worth a visit

In the village of Mahalon

Saint-Magloire Church: The old church in Mahalon dates back to the Romanesque period. It was partly rebuilt in 1772 but has retained many architectural features from its original construction, blending Renaissance and Gothic styles.
The church houses one of the earliest Renaissance funerary monuments in Brittany. Set into the north side wall, a ‘niche’ (enfeu) contains the 16th-century monument.

Saint Maudez Fountain: this votive fountain, set within the grounds of the presbytery, is fed by a spring. It is situated 50 metres from the church on the left-hand side as you head towards Pont-Croix.

Saint-Pierre Chapel.

Hello, I think there’s potential for a lovely walk (via the pond), but the suggested route apparently no longer exists in its entirety. Thank you

I’m sorry you’ve been left with an unpleasant memory of that walk.
Clearly, the terrain has changed quite a bit
I’ll see how I can adapt this walk
Kind regards

Good evening. There are no signposts south of the village. Poor signposting: DA, point 6, point 7 and between 8 and 9 – there’s no path to reach the road before point 9 (Ménez Lamarzin); you have to turn back. We had a good walk all the same. Apparently very few people use this route. Useful information.

A walk I didn’t finish. The bridge over the Goyen was under repair: so I turned back. In the south, several paths no longer exist and are blocked by branches and brambles. To the south, the countryside: maize and cereals; no sign of life. With all these setbacks, I decided to cut my trip short. What a shame...

The path was very bumpy. We came back covered in mosquito bites. The stagnant water

__Hello!

_A lovely walk in terrible weather: wind, rain and cold!
We’ll have to do it again in fine weather; Mahalon seems like a great place for walks! Don’t miss the collection of hydrangeas in summer!
