Park in the large car park at Place des Fêtes in Poullan-sur-Mer.
(S/E) Head north along Rue Tal Ar C'hef, turn right into Allée du Pontigou then left onto Route Ar Guernevez.
(1) Cross the road and take the path opposite.
(2) Cross a road and head towards the hamlet of Kerandraon.
(3) Go to the end of the road and continue along the path that leads to Pointe de la Jument and joins the coastal path (GR®34).
Red and white markings
(4) Turn right to follow this path towards Douarnenez. Continue, alternating between ascents and descents, and some slightly tricky sections between the rocks. Take the steps to reach the Roches Blanches site, where the partly disused buildings of a former holiday camp are located.
(5) Leave the site on your right and continue on to reach Pointe de Leydé, the last headland before Tréboul.
(6) Carry on and descend into the Vallon Saint-Pierre, cross a stream and reach the end of the most difficult section of the coastal path.
(7) Head back up from the coastal path, crossing a small car park, and follow the road to the left until you reach a flight of steps.
(8) Go down the steps leading to Sables Blancs Beach. Cross the beach past the spa and head back up to the coastal path via a flight of steps.
(9) Continue past the Chapelle Saint-Jean, head down to the top of Plage Saint-Jean, go round the cemetery and arrive at a clearly signposted junction with the GR®34.
(10) Head up to the right, follow Rue Birou to the left, turn left into the narrow streets and go down the steps near the water sports centre opposite Île Tristan.
(11) Turn right and walk along the basins of Tréboul marina: you can grab a bite to eat or have a drink on the terrace at one of the bars or restaurants lining the quays.
Leave the GR®34
(12) At the end of the quay, leave the GR®34 on your left and walk along Place des Quatre Frères Kérivel. Walk past a bakery/patisserie.
(13) Turn into Rue du Pont Neuf.
(14) After about a hundred metres, go down the ramp just before the house, easily recognisable by its brick colour. Cross the Guillaume Marec garden and head up Rue Alain Gerbault on the left. You will arrive at the Toubalan roundabout.
(15) Take the second exit, follow the road past the Toubalan industrial and commercial area (lots of shops). At the Kerguestin roundabout, turn right towards the Lidl supermarket.
(16) Take the well-signposted cycle path, just to the left of the entrance to the Lidl car park. Follow it for just over 2 km.
(17) Be careful here as the signpost is behind you. Turn right towards "Entre terre et mer - Allée couverte de Lesconil". Follow the path and, once you reach the road, turn left; then, a good hundred metres further on, just before the small car park, turn right towards the Allée couverte de Lesconil, which is thought to date from 3500 to 2000 BC.
(18) Return to the road and turn right. In my opinion, this is where the least pleasant part of the walk begins. The return to Poullan-sur-Mer is along a tarmac road that is not very busy but still has some traffic. So be careful!
(19) At a fork, take the road on the right and follow the greenway. A long straight stretch takes you back to the start of the circular route.
(1) Turn left and, following the route in reverse, head back to the car park at Place des Fêtes (S/E).
