Starting point and access: L'Étang-la-Ville station.
- Transilien - Line L, on the section between Paris Saint-Lazare and Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche via La Défense.
Take the platform exit towards La Défense at Saint-Nom (if arriving in the opposite direction, take the footbridge).
No signposts
(S/E) When you leave the station, turn left. After a few dozen metres, turn right onto Chemin des Terres à l'Eau. At the end, turn right. At the stop sign, turn left onto Chemin de l'Auberderie. When the street turns left, turn right onto a path bordered by a fence on the left. Atthe first crossroads, turn left onto a path that is not marked on the IGN map. Continue uphill, passing a cemetery on your left, until you reach a crossroads (small car park on the left, information board opposite).
Red and yellow markings
(1) Go around the sign on the left and turn right onto a path that starts behind the sign. At the next two crossroads, go straight ahead downhill. At a three-way junction (plot no. 135), take the path on the right, which is very stony and downhill. At the bottom, in open terrain, continue straight ahead on a wide path. Stay on this main marked path and ignore all side paths.

(2) At the Étoile Douteuse crossroads, take thesecond path on the left, which heads south-southwest at the foot of a tree bearing a red and yellow cross (the path shown as a dotted line on the 1:25,000 map, which heads southeast, now exists only as a vague trace). Climb gently, cross theGR®1and continue straight ahead. After a short steep climb, you will come to a T-junction (the path marked with a dotted line on the IGN map opposite no longer exists).
(3) Then follow a paved path to the left. Ignore a path on the right leading to a car park and turn left. At the next junction, go straight ahead. Pass the site of an old military battery on the right, go past a bench on the left and continue straight ahead (east) parallel to a small road. Further on, turn left and leave the road to reach the next junction.
(4) Turn left onto a discreet path that passes between two trees marked with plot numbers 137 and 138, respectively (be careful to spot this turn-off). Descend slightly, then continue on a slight incline.

(5) At the crossroads, follow theGR®1to the right. Ignore a vague start on the right and veer left. At a fork, veer right and then immediately turn right again. Climb zigzagging along the path. At the top, at a crossroads (forest barrier and small car park opposite), take thesecond path on the left. Stay on the main marked path and ignore any vague tracks on either side. Cross the D7 and continue on the path opposite along a fence on the right-hand side. Then continue on a small tarmac road.

(6) At the entrance to Marly Park (Porte du Stade), turn left and walk along a fence on your right.
No markings
(7) Cross the D7 again (caution, limited visibility on the right), follow the small cemetery road on the left for a few metres and immediately turn right onto a downhill path (tree marked with no. 145).
At the crossroads (two-trunk oak tree on the right), turn left. At the next crossroads, go straight ahead. At the crossroads (not shown on the IGN map), turn left. Go straight ahead (south-south-west), coming out onto the small road you left earlier and follow it to the right for a few dozen metres.
(1) Turn right (north-west) onto the path you took on the way there. Be careful, this path is not easy to spot in this direction; it is located in the extension of three wooden posts. Walk along the cemetery on your right and descend gently. At the crossroads, turn right. You will come to a road; follow it to the left. Take thefirst right, Chemin du Fond du Chêne, then thefirst left, which is a no-entry road. At the end, turn left and you will immediately come to L'Étang-la-Ville station (S/E).
To return home:
- Transilien - Line L, towards Saint-Nom-la-Bretèche (direct access) or Paris Saint-Lazare via La Défense (take the footbridge).
