Description of the walk

Park in the car park at the cross-country ski centre, which is situated between the town of Réallon and the hamlet of Les Gourniers on the D241.

(S/E) Set off northwards, following the signposted “A” route. Walk between the road and the Réallon stream; the route is relatively flat and offers lovely views of the surrounding mountains. Continue to Les Gourniers.

(1) At Les Gourniers, take the road to cross the stream and head westwards uphill. You’ll arrive at the hamlet of Les Ollieux.

(2) Head south again to look out over the Réallon valley. Cross Les Tonnelles, then the torrents in the Tournas and Gardette gorges. You’ll reach the hamlet of Le Bourget.

(3) Just after Le Bourget, turn left (the route is still signposted) and begin the descent back to the car park where you started (S/E).

The signposting was a bit sparse during the last half-hour of the walk, as we began our descent… Fortunately, we spotted and followed plenty of small snowshoe markers… A pleasant walk, especially from the hamlet of Les Tonnelles onwards, as it’s nicely shaded…

A lovely, short and really easy walk. The signposts are easy to follow. Most of the route is sheltered by the foliage, so it’s pleasant in all seasons. The surrounding scenery is magnificent.

A lovely little walk in the sunshine, with some lovely views – it’s best to tackle the climb up to Les Gourriers first, as there’s a long descent at the end of the route
