Park in the Balanod car park on Grande Rue.
S/E: From the car park, turn left, then left again into Rue du Molard. Cross the hamlet and turn left onto Chemin de Sable to reach a wash house.
(1) Walk past the wash house, continue along the road that turns right and take Rue de la Filature, where an old building still houses the old machines that were used for spinning. Cross the Rivière de Besançon and follow the shaded Chemin de la Forge. Walk past the ponds and continue to the waterfall.
(2) Turn around and take the stairs on the right to reach a fork in the road.
(3) Turn right to reach Montagnat-le-Reconduit, join the D181, turn into Rue Traversière and go around the church. At the crossroads, continue straight on along Rue des Cheviniers until you reach the old water collection building (signposted as the Roman road).
(4) Turn right and follow the signs for the viewpoint. Cross the D51 twice and turn right to reach the viewpoint overlooking Montagnat-le-Reconduit, where there are two tables for a lunch break.
(5) Follow theGR® 59 trail through the Bois au Mont forest, heading towards Aubépin in the south-west. Continue along Rue des Sources, then turn right onto Rue Principale.
(6) Turn left to reach the tower of the old Château de l'Aubépin, now in ruins. There is a chapel at the viewpoint overlooking the Saint-Amour plain.
(7) From the viewpoint, turn around to return to Rue Principale and turn left onto Chemin de l'Ermitage until you reach a crossroads.
(8) Turn left, then immediately right, heading west. At the bend, leave the wide path and continue straight ahead, then turn right towards Chante-Merle.
(9) At the bend, continue to the right to reach the equestrian farm.
(10) Head uphill towards Les Côtes via Chemin de Chassenay. Pass to the right of an antenna and reach the end of the road.
(11) Follow this tarmac road (Chemin de Bel Air) to reach the wash house and car park on Grande Rue (S/E).
