Description of the route

The route starts from the church in Saint-Bresson, with parking available on the other side of the road.

Route no. 43, marked on the ground by brown markers

(S/E) With your back to the church, turn left and take the D136 towards Rovillers. Pass a road on the right, then one on the left, and you will arrive at a three-way junction.

(1) Leave the main road and turn right, cross the bridge over the Raddon river, then turn left at the calvary. At the next junction, turn left.

(2) After the left-hand bend, take the path that climbs into the forest and leads to Les Jeannery (chapel 50 m away).

(3) Continue straight ahead on the road, then turn right onto the D136. Continue uphill, passing two roads on your left.

(4) At the Calvary, take the path that branches off to the right into the woods. Continue straight ahead until you reach the edge of the forest.

(5) At the top, continue straight ahead along the edge of the forest, then turn right across the field. At the crossroads, turn left, then at the fork, turn right to reach Le Béviau.

(6) Walk about 100 metres to the left, leave the path and take a trail on the left at the edge of the forest. Continue straight ahead for 1 km, then join a dirt track on the right. About 100 metres before a farm, leave the track and take a path on the left that joins the D136.

(7) Take the departmental road on the right until you reach a multiple intersection between farm buildings.

(8) Take the path that branches off to the left just behind the farm. Continue straight ahead into the forest for 1.3 km until you reach a forest chalet.

(9) Turn right in front of the lodge and join a forest road. Continue left at the three-way junction that follows, keep right and then at the next intersection, continue left to reach the Hauts du Mont forest lodge.

(10) Once on the road, continue straight ahead and then, in the right-hand bend, take a path that branches off to the left. Continue straight ahead for 1 km on this path, which marks the boundary between the Vosges and Haute-Saône departments (marked by old stone boundary stones), until you reach a cross-country track.

(11) Turn right, then cross the road at the edge of the forest and you will come to a crossroads (Croix du Jaranceau 100 m to the right).

(12) Turn left onto a path through the meadows. At the fork, turn left and join a tarmac road.

(13) Turn right, then right again at the next intersection. Pass a road on your left and another on your right, then turn left at the end of the straight stretch.

(14) At the three-way junction, take the path on the left and pass between the houses. Stay on the path for 1.3 km.

(15) At the fork, turn left. The path leaves the forest, passes in front of some houses and joins a tarmac road.

(16) Take the road on the right and arrive at the hamlet of Le Houssot.

(17) Cross the hamlet and continue along the road at the entrance to the forest.

(18) After 400 m, turn right onto a dirt track. Continue straight ahead for 600 m, then turn left.

(19) At the junction with the road leading to Chazal, continue straight ahead and then take the second path on the right. At the crossroads, continue straight ahead until you reach the road.

(20) Take the forest road opposite and follow it for 1 km. At the end of a wide right-hand bend, before a long straight stretch, leave the road and turn left onto the path that leads to Pierre la Miche.

(21) Continue straight ahead for 1 km until you reach the crossroads (Pierre du Mouton 50 m away).

(22) Turn left then right in front of the farm shed, towards Bessot d'Enfroy. At the next intersection, turn right and continue for about 50 metres.

(23) Take the dirt track on the left and follow it straight ahead along the edge of the woods for 1.5 km until you reach a road.

(24) Turn right, then at the houses, take the path on the left. Then turn right onto the road.

(25) After the right-hand bend at the bottom of the valley, take the path on the left and continue to La Broche.

(26) Continue downhill on the left to reach the tarmac road.

(27) Follow it to the left, then at the next road junction, continue to the left and enter Saint-Bresson.

(28) At the crossroads, turn right, pass in front of the chapel, then take the second street on the left to reach the church (S/E).
