Family trail in the woods of Plourivo

This walk takes you along rural paths. You will cross the Plourivoù countryside through green valleys, following the Canon and Quinic streams. At around the3 km mark, on the left, you will see the Saint-Ambroise chapel. Feel free to leave the loop to explore it. Parts of the circuit may be muddy at certain times of the year, especially before and after the Allée des Chevreuils. At the Georges Kerbellec rest area, you can take the Pont Min botanical trail for a 1.5 km detour.

Description of the walk

You can park in the Mézou car park near the village hall or near the Betty de Mauduit public school. There are also two charging stations for electric vehicles. Parking is free of charge.

(S/E) Cross the road opposite the church, then cross again and head towards the D15.

(1) Follow the footpath on the left-hand side of the Route de l'Europe.

(2) Between no. 45 (right) and no. 56 (left) on Route de l'Europe, cross towards Kerbellec and continue straight ahead.

(3) Before the chicken coops, take the path on your left. Go down through the undergrowth, keeping to your left. Cross a charming footbridge over the Quinic. Go straight ahead to the hamlet of Kerban and continue straight ahead to the relay antenna.

(4) Turn right onto Route de Loudour, then take thefirst farm track on your left. Pass asecond antenna and continue straight ahead until you reach a chicken coop, which this time is on your left. Continue to the junction with Route de Saint-Ambroise. Feel free to leave the loop to discover the Saint-Ambroise Chapel and its fountain in its green setting.

(5) Cross over to Rue Hent Ar Chapel opposite.

(6) Take thefirst path on the right, which looks like it leads to a farm, but keep the field on your left to come out onto the Paimpol-Penhoat road. Go straight ahead and continue straight on. Pass behind some old chicken coops and continue straight on. At the intersection, look for a small pedestrian sign. Go straight ahead into the woods.

(7) Caution: do not continue straight ahead, but turn right until you reach the main road.

(8) You are now on Avenue du Trieux. (Be careful not to take the small path opposite). Continue right on the main road, watching out for cars. Turn intothe first path on the left, turn left, then right and follow the signs to Allée des Chevreuils.

(9) Go through these muddy passages at the Rivière le Kerbiquet and you will come to a crossroads.

(10) Turn left, pass a house on your left, then turn into thesecond road on the right. Pass another muddy section, then continue straight ahead until you reach Route du Castel.

(11) Just opposite, take a small path through a small wood and come out onto Route de Plounez. Turn right and continue to the junction with Route de Paimpol-Penhoat.

(12) Cross it straight ahead towards Boulevard des Écureuils.

(13) After No. 23 on this boulevard, turn left towards No. 21 bis, which is clearly marked with a sign. Take the path and go down to Route de Pont Min (D15).

(14) Cross it carefullyto reach the Georges Kerbellec rest area. Turn right (picnic tables), then left and go up the botanical trail to the top.

(15) There is a 1.5 km alternative route to explore the Pont Min botanical trail. Pont Min botanical trail. Continue straight ahead until you reach a farm on the right, on Chemin N'all gaër. This street is a dead end. Continue straight ahead towards the village. Now follow Rue Pierre Labbé and turn right onto Allée Buttevant. At the stop sign, turn left onto Route de Paimpol, then takethe first right to reach the Mézou car park (S/E).
