Departure from Place des Aires in Laragne-Montéglin (Tourist Office).
(S/E) Head south along Rue de l'Hôpital until you reach the junction with Avenue de Provence. Turn left, then at the roundabout, take a left onto Avenue de Montéglin. Cross the railway line.
(1) At the Montéglin chapel, turn left onto Chemin de Beauvoir et Bellerots. At the calvary, turn right and cross Beauvoir. You will reach the crossroads at the sign for "Upaix en circular".
Take the path on the right. After a few steps at the edge of the woods, you will reach a fork.
(2) Turn left towards "Upaix par les crêtes" (yellow markings). Stay on this path until you reach the entrance to Upaix.
(3) Turn right, then veer left to climb the tower and enjoy a 360° view. Then descend through the village, turn right onto Rue du Coutil to pass under the church and join the RD 51 (very little traffic).
(4) Follow this road to the right until you reach Brusset.
(5) Shortly after passing a farm on the right, leave the road and take the path on the right (yellow markings) which leads to the RD22 opposite some silos.
(6) Cross the RD 22 and go left for a few metres, then turn right towards the silos.
The yellow markings lead to a small road. Take it to the left and you will soon find a new path on the right.
Cross a ford and you will find another small road. Follow it to the right and you will arrive at the D22.
(7) Cross it and head between the houses to quickly find a path. Walk along the edge of the woods to reach the crossroads you passed on the way there.
(2) Turn left and retrace your steps to return to the car park where you started (S/E).
Be careful, you have to turn left at the (cultivated) field and not follow the other "hunting" paths in the forest, even though they seem to continue along the cultivated field. Given that the elevation gain is low, you should take the path on the left that climbs steeply into the forest!
