(S/E) From the Lac des Ramiers car park, turn right onto the Mirabel-Chambaud path for a few metres, then turn left onto Avenue de Baschi for a few metres.
(1) Keep right on Chemin de Tacanet,GR®420, towards Le Gratol, Boffres. At the next fork, go down to the left and follow the Merland stream. Pass the water treatment plant, then join a three-way junction: Les Petits-Ponts.
(2) Go up the small road straight ahead towards Le Gratol, Boffres. At the next fork, turn right. A little further up, walk alongside the Mont Flos farm. Continue to the next fork, just before a hairpin bend.
(3) At this junction, take the road climbing to the left and follow it until you reach the small road leading to the hamlet of Savinas, which you follow to the right. Cross the hamlet and continue along this small road.
(4) At the next crossroads, take the path on the left going up towards the Gratol farm. This path gives way to a trail that passes in front of the farm, climbs above it on the left, then continues through the woods. Reach a wide path and follow it to the right until the nextGR® crossroads.
(5) Continue to the right towards L'Herbasse. A little further on, cross a track and continue on theGRP®420to the next three-way junction.
(6) Continue straight ahead towards L'Herbasse, staying on theGRP® until you reach the hamlet of L'Herbasse. Cross it and continue to the nextGR® junction: turn right towards Col de la Mure-Saint-Julien-le-Roux and join the next crossroads at Lierne.
(7) At Lierne, go straight ahead towards the south, Col de la Mûre, Saint-Julien-le-Roux. Follow theGR®42andGRP®, which is sometimes quite rough.
(8) At the fork, leave theGR®420and continue straight ahead on theGRP® de Vernoux, marked in yellow and red, without ever leaving it, until you reach the Col de la Mure. Turn left and follow the RD21 for about 150 metres until you reach the hairpin bend.
(9) At this bend, take the path winding through the woods to Saint-Julien-le-Roux. Ignore all the paths branching off to the right or left and stay on theGRP® until you reach a small road. Continue straight ahead.
(10) A few metres further on (Vignasse mast), at the crossroads, continue straight ahead towards Vernoux. At the next crossroads (Croix mast), turn left towards Vernoux. You will reach a three-way junction (Clôt mast), follow the path on the right (without leaving theGRP®), which passes through fields, orchards and woods until you reach the road. Follow it on the left for a few metres, then continue straight ahead towards Le Vernet (sign).
At the next junction, do not turn towards Le Vernet, but continue straight ahead, following the path that continues along the road.
Reach a three-way junction, turn right (marker on a rock), go around the field on the left, and the path continues without any problems.
Walk to the D231.
(11) Cross it and follow the path opposite down to the Ève stream. Take the footbridge to cross the stream, then climb up opposite, without leaving theGRP®, until you reach the ruins of the Château de la Tourette.
(12) There are two ways to reach the ruins:
- just before the ruins, theGRP® takes a small marked path on the left which then joins the Chemin de la Tourette and the ruins;
- continue to the right until you reach the ruins, then take the Chemin de la Tourette.
Take the small Chemin de la Tourette road, reach and cross the hamlet of Pailler, continue on theGRP® along this small road, ignoring the various small roads on either side ofthe GRP® until you reach the Montunaud district.
(13) Continue along this small road, without leaving it, towards Vernoux straight ahead for about 500 metres (follow the housing estate, leaving Chemin des Îles on your left).
(14) At the three-way junction, take the small road on the right until you reach the intersection with Chemin du Vernet.
(15) Turn left, then shortly after right onto Chemin Abraham Mazel. Follow it to the D21, cross it and shortly after join the Chemin de Tacanet, which will take you back to the Lac des Ramiers (S/E).
