Park near the Chalencon post office, at the hiking information sign.
(S/E) Opposite, take the magnificent Rue Royale, which starts to the right of the porch. Pass in front of the post office, reach Place du Valla and cross it, heading to the left to reach the orientation table. Then, take a beautiful paved slanting street to arrive in front of the Tourist Information Office.
(1) Turn right towards Saint-Jean Chambre. At the next crossroads, climb the paved slanting street on the left to reach Place de l'Église. Take the steps opposite, signposted Table Oppidum, then Ruines du Château de Chalencon. Then follow a path between low walls to reach another orientation table.
(2) Continue left along the narrow path that passes between old agricultural terraces and join a road leading to the hamlet of Chaumenasson.
(3) Continue up the hill to reach the highest point, at a place called Pialoup.
(4) Begin the descent into the woods to reach the crossroads at the Pracoulet signpost.
(5) Stay on this path, then turn left onto theGRP® Tour du Pays de Vernoux. You will soon come to the crossroads at the La Fraysse signpost.
(6) Continue on theGRP® marked in yellow and red. Follow the direction of Mourier and reach a crossroads serving the antenna near the hamlet of Aulagnier. Here, you will find a first gate to close behind you.
(7) Turn 180° to the left, pass a second gate, which you should also close behind you. Continue downhill through a chestnut grove until you reach the Mourier signpost, the junction withthe GR®420.
(8) Take thisGR® trail on the left, marked in white and red, towards Chalencon and arrive at the hamlet of Baudèche.
(9) Continue on theGR®, pass the hamlet of Malevalet and begin a new climb with wide hairpin bends until you reach the ruins of Malavette.
(10) Continue climbing to reach the new high point at the hamlet of La Barre.
(11) Descend into the forest, then through the fields, passing close to the hamlet of Chaumenas and then arriving at the Chaumenasson crossroads.
(12) Stay on theGR® to return to the initial crossroads at the Information Office.
