Description of the walk

The hike starts at Bussy-Saint-Georges station, accessible by RER A.

(S/E) When you leave Bussy-Saint-Georges station, turn right onto Promenade de l'Oseraie and, after 450 metres, take the footbridge over the railway tracks.

(1) Turn left (Boulevard Thibaud de Champagne) and, after 100 metres, turn right onto Avenue du Général De Gaulle, then left onto a road that runs alongside a pond on the right and passes between it and the Church of Notre-Dame du Val. Continue straight ahead until you reach a cross street.

(2) Turn right (Avenue André Malraux), then left onto Rue des Crocus, and continue to No. 11. Immediately after, take the small road on the right (Allée des Petit Pas). Cross the boulevard and continue straight ahead for about 50 metres. You will see the entrance to Square Valentin Haüy on your left.

(3) Cross the square and, at the exit, take the path on the left. At the street (Avenue du Clos Saint-Georges), continue straight ahead and enter Val de Bussy. Follow this road to the corner of the golf course.

(4) Continue along the road that crosses the golf course, Chemin du Bouleau Carreau. Then enter Conches-sur-Gondoire after crossing theD217B. The road turns left and ends at Avenue Charles Péguy. Turn right and continue to No. 30.

(5) Turn right onto Avenue Marcel Proust, then left at the corner of the cemetery onto Allée Georges Bernanos.

(6) At Place de l'Église, turn left (Rue du Fort du Bois), then right onto Chemin des Piats. At the end of the road, turn right (Rue Ferraille) and you will soon come to a four-way junction.

(7) Follow Chemin Neuf on the left to the end. Turn left onto the D35, then quickly right onto theD35A towards Gouvernes, and take the first road on the left.

(8) Take this road (Chemin du Cimetière) and, once you reach the cemetery, turn right. You will cross a very wide, tree-lined path (Allée du Château) that leads to the Château de Guermantès on your left. Continue straight ahead until you reach the end of a street (Chemin du Clos). Ignore this street, turn left and take the first path on the right, just before you reach a road (Avenue des Deux Châteaux).

(9) Turn right onto this path and, after about 100 metres, keep to the right. Cross a road and you will come to a four-way fork (Chemin du Clos Bertail).

(10) Go straight ahead, then turn right, cross a stream via a footbridge, and quickly turn right. Walk along the Ru de la Brosse on your right, cross two other paths, then cross the stream again, walk along the Étang de la Loy on your left, and you will arrive at a carriage road.

(11) Turn left and cross the pond's dyke (Chemin du Haut Villiers), ignore the two roads on the left, and continue to the corner of the residential area.

(12) Take the path (PR®) on the left and follow it to the entrance to the Parc du Château de Rentilly. Enter the park and continue straight ahead (ignore the PR® path that branches off to the left). When you reach the château on your left, walk along the lakes opposite it and continue to the end of the second lake.

(13) In front of you are the ponds, one after the other, and, at the end, the Château de Rentilly. Finish going around the ponds, pass them and the château, and take the path on the right. Pass in front of the Orangerie library and exit the park by turning right, then left, opposite No. 32. Continue along Rue du Met, cross Rentilly and go to the end of this street.

(14) Continue to the left (Chemin de la Voirie des Pages) and go straight on until you reach a crossroads with several roads and paths, next to a small car park.

(15) Take the first path, which curves sharply to the right, and follow the Ru de la Brosse on your right as closely as possible. Cross it once, then follow the other bank to the end of the road.

(16) Turn right onto the path that crosses the stream a second time and follows it again on the right until you reach the Étang de la Brosse. Start walking around this pond on the right.

(17) At the opposite end, continue around the pond, and when the path splits in two, turn right and leave the path. Then enter a wood (PR®), cross a road (Rue de Ferrières), and continue through the undergrowth. Walk along a first pond on your left, cross a street (Boulevard de Lagny), walk along a second pond, and continue to a street (Rue Bernard Palissy), opposite No. 12.

(18) Turn right, then take the second street on the left, Rue Robert Schuman. Walk along Square René Cassin, then, at the corner of the building with columns, turn onto Allée Ambroise Paré. At the end, turn left, then right (Rue Konrad Adenauer). Cross Avenue du Général de Gaulle and you will arrive at Place Fulgence Bienvenue. The entrance to Bussy-Saint-Georges station is a few dozen metres away, on the right (S/E).

Notes

(13) Crossing Rentilly Castle Park is the shortest option, but the park is vast and magnificent. You may decide to explore it and perhaps have a picnic there before touring the castle and its ponds.

Very beautiful hike; varied landscapes. Beautiful ponds. The Rentilly Castle park, which we didn't know about, is worth a visit. Pleasant hike in winter as there isn't much mud.
