(S/E) Leave Torcy station (RER A) on the south side (bus station). Cross the bus station using the pedestrian crossing, go down the stairs, pass between the buildings, cross the street and continue straight ahead, taking the two bridges over the lake.
Turn left, then follow the path along the pond. Cross a street and continue along the path beside the second pond.
(1) About 200 metres further on, in a left-hand bend, take a path on the right that climbs up into the trees. When you reach the top (view of the new town), pass the conservatory orchard (free picking during apple season). Go past the orchard and, 100 metres further on, at the corner of a sports field (marked by a tall metal column), take the path on the left, then left again at the edge of the woods to follow the motorway.
Follow this path, which eventually descends and curves sharply to the left. When you reach a paved walkway, turn right, then right again. You will arrive at the bridge under the motorway. Pass under the bridge and continue straight ahead.
(2) At the roundabout, turn left. At the fork, turn left (Rue de Torcy), then right (Rue de la Plaine). Continue to the stop sign, cross, then turn left onto the path that runs along a boundary wall. Continue along the wall. You will come to a gate blocking the way to a house.
(3) Take the wrong path on the left that goes into the bushes, zigzag to the power lines to get back on track, and continue on a path in the meadow, parallel to the power lines, for about 500 metres. Cross a track, then continue to pass under the power lines before entering the forest. About 500m further on, in a small clearing, take the track on the right. Then take the first left (300m), then the first right, then the beautiful avenue on the left, until you reach the Piscop roundabout.
(4) Carefully cross the D471 to enter the impressive Allée des Séquoias. After 100 metres, take the lane on the left to visit the Totems de Taffarette.
(5) Return to Allée des Séquoias, continue left for 300 metres, then take a dirt track on the right at the edge of the field. As you approach the D471, the track turns left before crossing.
(6) Cross the D471 carefully, then turn left, then take the first forest track on the right, then the second on the left. At the crossroads, take the most discreet path/track, which branches off at 135° to the right. When you reach a crossroads with wide paths (Carrefour du Pas du Cheval), turn 135° to the left until you reach Carrefour de la Ferrandière, after the picnic area.
(7) Take the Route de Roissy, heading due west, for about 500 metres.
GRP® Red and Yellow markings
(8) When you reach the GRP®, take a zigzagging path on the right. At the crossroads, turn left. Cross a track, then admire the pleasant site of the Mare du Cormier on your right. Cross another track. At the next crossroads, turn right and follow the markings.
You will arrive at Carrefour du Renard.
End of the markings
(9) Continue straight ahead, slightly to the left. At the next star-shaped crossroads (under the power lines), turn slightly left (Allée de la Porte au Lièvre). At the next crossroads, turn slightly right, then straight on to the housing estate, after passing a large pasture on your right.
(10) Enter the housing estate through a small pedestrian passage in the fence. At the first crossroads, turn left and walk 30 metres to find a passage between the gardens of the houses. Cross the street and continue along the passageway opposite. When you reach the edge of the pond, take the narrow path on the right between the pond and the housing estate. At the corner of the pond, turn left onto the dyke and follow it for about 220 metres.
(11) Leave the dyke via a steep path on the right, before crossing a ditch via a culvert and climbing up the other side towards the schools. Walk past the schools and continue to a small triangular green space. Turn right onto the wide Allée des Platanes (with its two rows of plane trees) and continue to the half-roundabout, after which you will need to cross the boulevard.
(12) Turn right onto the shared cycle/pedestrian path until you reach the crossroads. You will find yourself back at the intersection you passed earlier.
(2) Turn left, go back under the motorway, then turn left onto the path that runs alongside the ponds on the opposite bank from the way there.
Cross the road, go down the steps opposite, then continue along the path on the east bank. When you reach the junction with the path leading down to the bridges crossing the lake, turn right onto the path and take the steps leading back to the station (S/E).
