Start from the Col d'Azet and follow the paragliders to their take-off areas. It would be possible to drive higher up the track, but there is a no-entry sign at the start.
(S/E) We climb up a track that runs along the Aure valley.
Pass a first window on the right overlooking the Louron valley and the Val Louron resort. You will quickly reach the Courret de Latuhe crossroads.
(1) Turn left, still on the track, to reach a second crossroads.
(2) Continue along the track and after Tuc de la Boup, you will come to a third crossroads.
(3) Continue left to find the end of the track at a modern barn. Turn right just before it and head for the relay antenna above (the first of three steep climbs). You will arrive at Tuc de Labatiadère, the first 360° viewpoint, with nothing to obstruct the view except the relay antenna and its hut.
(4) Continue north-west on a track identical to the previous one, which follows the ridge to the forest. You will rejoin the Tor trail. Leave the track slightly to admire the view at 1,673 metres above sea level over the Aure valley, Saint Lary below and Le Plat d'Adet just opposite.
(5) Continue straight ahead downhill, entering the forest and passing a clearing that is very popular with wild boars. You will arrive at the first intersection at an altitude of 1,479 metres.
(6) Turn right to continue into the Bois de la Soula. The forest track climbs gradually, gradually changing from conifers to mainly deciduous trees (magnificent in autumn), and crosses two tiny streams.
(7) You will come to a fairly steep uphill track on the right (this is the second climb). You will come to another intersection of paths.
(8) Turn right onto the narrower track that goes slightly back. The climb levels out and leads to another intersection.
(9) Be careful not to take the first left here, but take the second left, which forms a 90° turn and climbs rapidly up an open trail towards a solitary pine tree in the steep pasture.
the third and final steep climb leads to the viewpoint over the Louron Valley.
(10) Enjoy the 360° panorama before heading back down to the perpendicular trail. Turn right and follow the trail/track to the highest point of the hike, Peyres Aubes at 1,735 metres. To the east is the Peyragudes resort, its altiport (mountain airport) and the location of a James Bond film, and below is the Col de Peyresourde.
(11) Return to the relay antenna and you will find yourself back at the crossroads.
(3) Take the same route as on the way there until you reach the second crossroads.
(2) Keep left to find a narrow path below that goes around the Tuc de Latuhe. Pass the wind socks in the paragliding take-off area and rejoin the gravel track back to the Col d'Azet.
(1) Follow the same route back to the car park where you started (S/E).
