Circular route from Saint-Michel-en-Grève to Locquémeau

This circular route starting from Toul ar Villin will take you to the Port of Locquémeau and Pointe de Séhar via rural paths in the bocage countryside around Trédrez-Locquémeau. Take the time to stroll around the harbour and walk around Pointe de Séhar. If the tide allows, venture onto the sharp rocks and climb up to the place known as "Le Château". The return journey is via the GR® 34 coastal path, passing through Beg an Evned, the cliffs of Trédrez and Beg ar Forn.

There are no particular difficulties on this excursion between land and sea, except for the hilly terrain of the coastline.

Description of the walk

The starting point is the car park at Toul ar Vilin beach, on the border between the municipalities of Saint-Michel-en-Grève and Trédrez-Locquémeau.

(S/E) Walk up Rue de Hent Toul ar Villin. Ignore the first two roads on the right and left, continue uphill until you reach the junction with Route de Hent Kerouguel.

(1) Turn left, go around the three bends and continue straight ahead to reach the junction at Pen ar Min.

(2) Ignore the road on the left and then the one on the right and continue north on a farm track.

(3) Pass the hamlet of Kervorgan, then continue straight ahead at elevation 95. Leave the PR® trail that branches off to the right and head towards the houses of Kersalic Braz.

(4) Take a road on the left, then the path slightly to the right, still heading north. You will arrive at Kerham Huellan.

(5) At the first crossroads at elevation 83, turn left, then left again and immediately right after the houses. Continue across the moors until you reach a parallel PR® trail. Follow the marked path that branches off to the left at Beg Lemm, in a sharp right-hand bend.

(6) Turn left onto a path that descends, pass between two houses and join Rue de Hent Traou ar Roz. Follow this road to reach the RD 88.

(7) At the seaside, turn left to reach the harbour.

(8) Walk along the sea to go around the houses. If the tide allows, take the time to venture onto the sharp rocks that give this passage its distinctive relief. Climb up to the place called "Le Château". Observe your future route on the coastal path and enjoy the site.

(9) Retrace your steps, leaving the harbour on your left, and look for the path that branches off to the right.

(10) Follow the GR® 34 trail, passing along the edge of the Vorlen pond. Stay on the GR® trail, which winds along the coastline on a more or less undulating path.

(12) Pass Beg an Evned and arrive at the Trédrez cliffs.

(11) Ignore the PR® trail that climbs up the slope and continue on the main route along the seafront. You will reach Beg ar Forn.

(12) The path then turns south-east. Join a white path that leads to some houses.

(13) Look for a staircase that is not very visible in the foliage. Go down it and take a small path to the car park at Toul ar Vilin beach (S/E).
