Puy Aillaud loop via the Ravin du Goitreux

This is a short circular walk around Puy Aillaud, to be done when there is no snow, which will allow you to admire the paragliders taking off from one of the most famous spots in the valley. You will then pass through the shade of the forest as you cross the Ravin du Goitreux.

Description of the walk

Parking is available along the road when you arrive at Puy Aillaud.

(S/E) Go up the main street, Chemin du Serre, towards the centre of the village.

(1) Make a round trip to the paragliding take-off area, following the street on the left and following the signs: Very steep take-off slope.

(2) Return to the village centre via the same route.

(1) Continue along the street on the left until you reach a fork.

(3) Take the first track on the left, heading north-west, and pass under the Ajourdines ski lift.

(4) At the fork, follow the track to the right and pass under the Préron chairlift twice.

(5) Leave the track at the bend and take the path on the right, heading south-east (it is possible to continue on the track). Further on, join the track known as Chemin du Bouisset

(6) Follow it to the right and, at the next bend, take the path on the right that goes into the Ravin du Goitreux ravine and then climbs up the other side.

(7) At the fork, turn right, initially heading west, which quickly turns south-southeast. Continue along this path to the car park (S/E).

However, keep to the circuit as the reverse direction is quite steep and slippery.
Do not attempt in rainy weather or if the ground is wet.
