The walk starts from Marcillac church.
(S/E) Opposite the church, turn left and take the small path that descends onto a property opposite a gate. Turn left between the house and the fence and go down the small grassy path towards "Circular de Marcillac". The path descends rapidly and passes a well under some walnut trees. Continue straight ahead, passing traditional dwellings. The tarmac road descends towards the valley.
(1) Come out onto the tarmac road and turn right, continuing for about 400 metres.
(2) At the next crossroads, two circular objects intersect. Leave the valley and climb up to the left at an acute angle towards La Pomparie. The road climbs under the forest canopy and leads to the plateau.
(3) Just before the entrance to La Pomparie, follow the stabilised path on the left that leads towards the woods. At the fork, take the left path. Pass the hamlet of Les Communaux and enter the woods. Cross the woods from west to north-west, ignoring the paths on either side. Descend the gentle slope, except for the last 20 metres where the path becomes steeper (take care).
(4) At the bottom of this steep slope, take the road on the right. Ignore the road to Marcillac on the left and the path to Moulin de Nauchadou on the right. At the crossroads, turn left onto the D48 road towards Tamniès and follow the Beune valley for about 800 metres.
(5) Take a path on the left towards the river. At the shed, the small road veers to the right. Cross the river and, shortly after the bridge, turn right onto the track. The path leads to a crossroads at the corner of a poplar grove.
(6) Go up the track on the left towards "Bourg de Marcillac", along the edge of the woods for 150m. Enter the woods on the left. The path runs alongside the meadow of a small valley, which you must cross to reach the other side. Continue climbing along the edge of the meadow for about 300m. Under the canopy of holm oaks, continue climbing to reach the plateau.
(7) In the clearing, turn right towards the hamlet of Les Bernats. Continue straight ahead on the small road. At the crossroads, turn left and you will arrive at the Croix de Berthal. Continue straight ahead towards the village. Then, at the end of the road, at the "keyhole" wash house, turn left towards Les Tailladis, then immediately turn right onto the small lane to return to Marcillac church (S/E).
