(S/E) Start in front of the Town Hall. Take Avenue Lazare Carnot heading south-south-east.
(1) At the roundabout, turn left onto Rue de la Fontaine and continue for 80 metres.
Go down the small dirt track on the left to admire the fountain (a monolithic block dating from the Middle Ages but which was already in use by the Romans in the area, as evidenced by the foundations of an ancient villa found a few hundred metres away). Go back up the road and continue along the same street.
(2) At the fork after Berti, follow Chemin de la Fontaine to the right to reach the banks of the Garonne (site of an ancient Roman port, pillars have been found on this corner of the riverbank known as Port Haut).
(3) Head south-west. At the crossroads, turn left, south, and then immediately right into Rue des Pyrénées. Follow this road for 100 metres and then turn left onto a path that quickly veers left, heading south-south-west.
(4) Carefully cross the D2 to reach Chemin de Montagne. After an uphill stretch, descend, ignoring all paths branching off to the left and right.
(5) Turn left, heading south-west, onto Chemin de Chambert. On the plateau, note the old railway line on the right that used to connect Grenade to Merville.
(6) At the crossroads, turn right onto the road heading north, then left, heading south-west. Walk alongside the racecourse and horse parks for 90 metres. Turn right, heading north-west. At the road, walk alongside the departmental road on the right for 200 metres.
(7) Turn left onto Chemin de Pampalouno, which offers a beautiful view of the Save valley.
(8) Take the path on the right and descend to the crossroads. Nearby, there is a curiosity to discover: a mound with a ditch that was an outpost of the Gallo-Roman camp of Mayras. Continue along Chemin de la Magdelaine (the place is named La Payssière, which comes from the word "pieux" (piles); these were used by monks in the Middle Ages to build the dam that still supplies the Canalet today). Follow the small canal to the old mill.
(9) Continue on your way to the old railway station (now the Youth Information Point). As you pass, note the water tower and the old wash house. Walk up Allée Alsace Lorraine and then Avenue Carnot for about 50 metres to the Town Hall (S/E).
