Parking near the cemetery.
(S/E) Start on the right-hand side of the cemetery (north-east section), along the wall. The path climbs. Follow the 52 markings to the first electricity pylon.
The path continues to the left, but a small detour to the right offers a view of the town.
Follow signpost 52, and at the first intersection, continue straight ahead
(1) At the next intersection, turn left (signposted Cazarilh) and continue along the main path to Cazarilh-Laspènes. A hiker on a bench will be waiting for you there.
Cross the village and continue to the church.
(2) Take a look at the reused stones, which are probably from Roman gravestones.
Retrace your steps to the entrance of the village and take the path in the opposite direction.
(1) Then turn left towards the iron-rich fountain.
(3) Make a small 10-metre detour to see it, then turn left. Then take the path, which is often in the undergrowth (signposted Luchon or 53)
(4) On the steepest downhill section, before the THT, turn right at the intersection towards Bagnères-de-Luchon.
Head down into town via Rue de la Liberté.
(5) Turn right onto Avenue du Maréchal Foch (D125E) towards the Lionne roundabout (with its water jets).
Stay on the right-hand pavement, do not cross the road, and take the first exit off the roundabout, Cours de la Casseyde, to return to the cemetery (S/E).
. A few views over the valley and Luchon. Arrival in charming Cazarilh, where we were greeted by a pensive walker sitting on a bench. Peace and tranquillity for a few moments of exploration (church, fountains...). Spotted the Mayor and met a few fellow hikers.
