Loop in the Foupeysson forest at the foot of Mont Pinay

From La Ville, climb towards Cimes de Cours and Foupeysson. Park at the first large crossroads in the Foupeysson forest.

(S/E) Follow the GR®765, marked in white and red, to the north-east, which climbs gently to reach the Croix Bleue crossroads.

(1) Continue straight ahead on the paved path after passing an isolated house to reach Mont Pinay

(2) Leave the GR® here and take the road on the right towards La Luire and Les Petites Fayes.

(3) At the first fork, turn left towards the hamlet of Les Petites Fayes.

(4) At the bottom of the descent, turn right, then almost immediately right again. After a solitary house, the tarmac gives way to grass. Follow the path and cross a stream (often dry). Take the path that climbs to the left. Continue and you will soon reach a road.

(5) Take it on the left to reach the end of the road at the hamlet of Grandes Fayes.

(6) Turn 90° onto the path on the left. Continue climbing through the woods and, via a circular loop on the right, return to the car park in the Foupeysson forest (S/E).

(S/E) Enjoy the beautiful panoramic views of the Loire Valley from here. Several routes start from here, including the "attaque du maquis" route towards Belmont and La Ville.
