Description of the walk

Park in Avot (Rue de Travot), either in the car park next to the restaurant and fountain or in the same street after the post office: there are several spaces along the Tille.

GR®7 marked in white and red

(S/E) Go up Rue de Travot heading north and cross the bridge over the Tille

(1) At the crossroads, turn left into Rue de Vesvrotte, following the markings, and continue along this road for over a kilometre.

(2) Leave the road and follow the GR® trail to the right through the Combe entre Deux Fins. Then cross the Herbues plain and reach a crossroads at the edge of the woods.

(3) Continue on the right between two wooded areas.

End of the markings

(4) Leave the GR® and turn left onto a white path, which leads to a tarmac road in Courlon.

(5) Turn right onto this road towards the village and arrive at the crossroads at Saint-Rémi Church. Turn right to follow Rue de Paradis to the castle, where you can admire the façade.

(6) Retrace your steps, pass the church again and continue to the right, passing the town hall. You will reach a triangular crossroads just after crossing the Tille de Bussières.

(7) Keep to the right, leaving Combe Amiot on your left, and continue to the next crossroads at a place called La Tour.

GR®7 marked in white and red

(8) Turn left and follow the GR®7 along the edge of the Bois de la Garenne. Before reaching the D112, take a sharp left turn towards the Porte des Chanoines, staying on the GR®.

End of markings

(9) At the intersection, leave the trail and head towards Le Pavillon on the right. You will come out onto the D112. Follow it to the left to quickly reach the D959.

(10) Turn left and head towards the station on the other side of the road. Cross the road carefully to the right and continue along the forest path uphill. You will arrive at the junction with a white path at a place called Sur la Roche.

(11) Follow it for just a few metres and take the path on the right, heading south: be careful not to take the wrong path, as several paths lead off from this crossroads. Continue for about 600 metres.

(12) Head left and descend Combe Girot until you reach the edge of the woods, opposite Tille de Villemervy.

(13) Turn right onto the track running parallel to the stream, reach the waste collection centre and rejoin the D959.

(14) Cross it carefully and continue on the path opposite.

(15) Stay on the forest path and cross the Bois de Vellerey until you reach the junction with a white path.

(16) Continue along this path, pass Les Charmottes and come out onto the D19b.

(17) Cross it and follow the path opposite towards the village. Return to the D19b and follow it to the right.

(1) Turn left onto Rue de Travot and return to the car park (S/E).
