Circular walk from Bettmeralp to Fiescheralp, returning via the Panoramaweg

The start and finish of this hike are at the Betten – Bettmeralp – Bergstation cable car station.

(S/E) From the Bettmeralp top station, follow the main road (Hauptstrasse) heading north-east. Pass the Seestrasse on your left and continue to the Wurzenbord chairlift station

(1) Continue along the Hauptstrasse, passing the Hotel Aletsch. Leave the village and enter the forest. You will reach another junction at the ticket office for the tree-top adventure park.

(2) Turn left and continue through the forest until you reach another junction.

(3) Take the path on the left and continue the climb along the ridge. Pass close to the top station of the Wurzenbord chairlift. After a bend, descend to the Bättmer-Hitta Restaurant.

(4) Heading north-east and following the purple markings, walk to Laxeralp, the start of the village of Fiescheralp.

(5) Cross the village to the Fiescheralp cable car station.

(6) Enjoy the view over the Rhône Valley and the Eggishorn. Return to the Laxeralp – Panoramaweg junction.

(5) Turn right and follow the Panoramaweg, which is marked with purple posts. Walk along this beautiful path which climbs above the resort and descends to the Bättmer-Hitta Restaurant.

(4) Return to the upper station at Bettmeralp by following the route in reverse (S/E).

• Markings: Purple posts ( winter route).
• The winter route does not necessarily correspond to the summer path. Winter paths run alongside ski runs. Cross the ski runs with caution at the clearly marked junctions.
• This route cannot be used for a summer hike.

• Equipment: snowshoes or snow crampons if the snow is well-packed.
