In the village of Vouglans, take the forest road that climbs towards Plage des Plans and park in the car park next to the barrier that reserves road access to authorised users.
(S/E) Go through the barrier and continue along the road towards Plage des Plans (GR® "Tour du Lac de Vouglans", with classic red and white markings and yellow markings.
(1) At Bois sous Faucon, make a round trip to Plage des Plans, which offers a view of the final section of the Vouglans Dam reservoir.
(2) Retrace your steps to Bois sous Faucon.
(1) Take the path that climbs to the left, towards the place called La Grange des Plans.
(3) Stay on theGR® trail, taking the path on the left, and head towards La Grange des Plans.
(4) Turn left onto the path towards Moirans-en-Montagne until you reach Les Cornes de Dolan.
(5) Leave theGR® trail by taking a path on the left towards the Champs Palards viewpoint.
(6) Turn left at a hairpin bend, where the markings are not very visible, and you will reach a magnificent viewpoint overlooking Plage des Plans, the Vouglans Dam and a horseshoe-shaped bend in the Ain River.
(7) Continue north on the path that is circular and loops south and arrives at a fork.
(8) Continue along a path on the left, which turns into a forest track heading north-east, then due north towards a fork.
(9) Leave the forest track and take a path on the left towards the Belvédère des Champs Palards viewpoint. This viewpoint over the southern part of Lake Vouglans has a small picnic area.
(10) Turn right and follow the forest track that leads to a forest road.
(11) Follow this Pré du Puits forest road towards the Belvédère du Bief Desous viewpoint (GR® and yellow markings). It leaves theGR®9by turning right to reach another fork.
(12) At the place called Sur Faucon, leave theGR® and continue straight ahead towards the viewpoint. When the forest road joins the D299, at a picnic area, take a path that climbs for about 20 metres to the viewpoint. Then follow the D299 for about 100 metres.
(14) Turn right onto an unmarked path that descends to the first junction with a forest track.
(15) Continue straight downhill along a path that is not very well marked for the first 50 metres, to the left of the stream flowing from the spring, until you reach the path that leads to the village of Lect.
(16) Turn left and follow the path until you reach the D299, at the entrance to the village of Lect (yellow markings).
(17) Turn right and cross the village along the road (no pavement).
(18) At the end of the village, turn right and take a street that quickly turns into a path leading down to the Route du Belvédère.
(19) Turn right and take this road which leads to the Belvédère du Barrage de Vouglans, a round trip (permanent and very interesting exhibition on the construction of the dam).
(20) Retrace your steps to the fork.
(19) Leave the road and take a path downhill to the right, towards the village of Vouglans (walking sticks recommended in wet weather). Continue to the first houses.
(21) Turn right to reach the Route des Plans and the car park (S/E).
